Road America represents another new stop on the NASCAR Cup Series, featuring 14 turns over four miles. The last time NASCAR raced here with the Cup Series was back in 1956, although the Xfinity Series has raced here since 2010. This will be the fourth road course for Cup Series drivers this season. The top road course drivers are Martin Truex Jr, Chase Elliott and Kyle Larson, but there are some other options for you to choose that bring betting value as well.

Joey Logano has thrived under the rules package in use at road courses this year. Going back to the 2020 Charlotte Roval, Logano has six straight finishes in the top ten, including four straight in the top four. In the three road course races in 2021, he has an average finish of 3.0, hauling in an average of 46.0 points per event.

Ross Chastain is a feast or famine driver, but at road courses, he has done well in 2021. He crashed at the Daytona Roval, but he finished fourth at Circuit of the Americas and seventh at Sonoma. Don’t be surprised to see him sneak back into the top ten again this weekend, if not even higher.

Kurt Busch is tied for fifth in the Cup Series in points over the last ten events on road courses and has six top-ten finishes in that stretch, tied for third. He joined Chip Ganassi racing last year and has three top-six finishes in the last four road race events overall. He is not normally one of our wagering suggestions, but moving to the road course makes him an interesting pick here.

A.J. Allmendinger is one of the top road racers in NASCAR. He spent 2019 and 2020 in the Xfinity Series but came back to the Cup Series this season as a part of Kaulig Racing. He finished seventh and fifth at the Roval at Daytona and Circuit of the Americas, respectively. I expect him to crack the top five once again this week.

Michael McDowell came in 12th or better running in four of his last six events on road courses, and it was a spin in the final lap at Sonoma that kept him from securing top-ten finishes in each of the three 2021 road race events. He is one of the veteran Cup Series racers, and he has won at Road America in the Xfinity Series. He offers some real value.

Austin Cindric came in 25th at Circuit of the Americas in his Cup Series road course debut. However, he led a few laps in the early going, and he cracked the top five in each of the first two stages. The race was called for rain right after he had pitted; otherwise, he would likely have finished in the top ten. He won the Xfinity Series race at Road America in 2020.
