2019 Week College Football 7 Odds, Overview & Top Picks

Written by on October 7, 2019

There are three FBS teams with 6-0 records so far. One of them is Ohio State, which has come out of the gate in a far more dominant fashion than many thought. Another is Florida, which thumped Auburn on Saturday in a showdown of SEC titans. A third is Southern Methodist, who played their first game as a ranked team in 36 seasons on Saturday. They came out flat, perhaps a bit overconfident after all of the positive press they have received this past week, and found themselves down 30-9 entering the fourth period. However, they scored three touchdowns over the last 15 minutes to tie the game and then won in the third overtime, 43-37, and are now ranked #21 in the nation. What can you expect to see in college football Week 7? We have some NCAAF betting suggestions for you to consider.

2019 Week College Football 7 Odds, Overview & Top Picks

#7 Florida (+13) at #5 LSU

One difference with LSU this year is that their offense actually moves the ball up and down the field. You may have thought that, in Baton Rouge, the forward pass was considered a trick play, but quarterback Joe Burrow has been the real deal so far this season. Even so, this is a huge line given how Florida was able to limit Auburn’s offense. Bo Nix of Auburn is not quite the quarterback that Burrow is, but a 13-point line? This will depend on the way that Gator quarterback Kyle Trask’s knee responds this week. He took an ugly hit against Auburn and had to come out for a while before returning to lead the Gators to victory. Now that the adrenaline has worn off, though, how will his knee feel in practice? Will he have to play in a heavy brace next week? Florida is already down to its second quarterback after losing Feleipe Franks for the season. If Trask is healthy, I see Florida staying within two touchdowns, so pay attention to your injury reports before locking in a wager. College Football Week 7 Prediction: LSU 30, Florida 20

#6 Oklahoma (-10.5) vs #11 Texas (at The Cotton Bowl, Dallas)

One of the most unusual rivalries in all of college football is renewed this Saturday, as Oklahoma and Texas square off during the State Fair of Texas at the original Cotton Bowl. This rivalry often features unexpected outcomes and upsets because of the high feelings involved. Last year, Sam Ehlinger led the Texas Longhorns to a win, and it was that win that helped the Longhorns get to the Big 12 title game last season (where Oklahoma beat them). For Oklahoma Jalen Hurts has put up all-world numbers so far this season, but the Longhorns have been impressive as well, with their lone loss coming to LSU. I see Texas covering this game, if not winning outright again. College Football Week 7 Prediction: Oklahoma 34, Texas 31

Michigan State (+11) at #8 Wisconsin

Michigan State did not look particularly good on offense against Ohio State this past Saturday, and Wisconsin’s defense might be even better than that of the Buckeyes. Wisconsin posted yet another shutout this past weekend, rolling all over Kent State. However, the Michigan State defense should regroup and will challenge the Badgers’ run-first approach. The Buckeyes are more of a passing attack, while Wisconsin likes to grind the ball up and down the field, an approach for which Michigan State’s defense is better suited. I see the Badgers winning this game, but that 11-point line just seems too high for me. You might point out, of course, that Wisconsin routed Michigan at home. However, Michigan’s defense did not show up to play that day, and while Michigan State is susceptible to the bad loss, they have already had their, against Arizona State. College Football Week 7 Prediction: Wisconsin 27, Michigan State 23
