2018 Ford EcoBoost 400 Odds & Preview

On Sunday, the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series will draw to a close for 2018, as the Championship 4 round will take place at Homestead-Miami Speedway, giving us a champion for the season. This was the place where Martin Truex Jr clinched the title a year ago. This year, the four eligible drivers for the title are Truex, along with Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick and Joey Logano. Logano had already clinched his spot by winning at the first Round of 8 race at Martinsville Speedway. Truex grabbed his spot by winning last week for his eighth checkered flag of the season. Harvick and Busch emerged from some chaos last week to finish well enough to take the last two spots. Who will win this week? We have your driver odds as well as some NASCAR betting suggestions for you to pick the winner of the 2018 Ford EcoBoost 400.

Denny Hamlin can’t win the championship, but he can win this race and bring in a lot of money. He represents a lot of value, given his record at Homestead-Miami Speedway. He has won this event twice and has five straight top-10 finishes at this racetrack. It is true that Hamlin didn’t win a single race in 2018, and he only has three top-10 finishes in his last nine races, but given the value and his resume at this track, you have to consider him.   Martin Truex Jr, as we mentioned earlier, won this last year as well as the championship. The 2018 season hasn’t been quite as successful, as he has not won any races since July, but he regularly makes it into the top five at his races and has four top-six finishes in his last seven races at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The value on this is decent enough for this wager to make sense.   Kyle Busch comes off a win last week and has three top-4 finishes in his last four events. He won this event three years ago and has five top-ten finishes in his last six races here. He has also picked up wins on this track in the Camping World Truck Series and in the Xfinity Series. The odds aren’t all that great in terms of value, but he has a terrific shot at winning.   Kevin Harvick doesn’t offer much value either, but if there is a driver who has been more consistent than Kyle Busch this year, it’s Harvick. He won this event four years ago and has four straight top-4 finishes at Homestead-Miami Speedway and has finished in the top 10 here in every event for the last 11 years. So again, not much value, but there are reasons — and those reasons might convince you to wager on him.   Kyle Larson could use his motivation from not making the top four to win here. He has three top-five finishes in his last four races, and he has three straight top-five finishes at Homestead-Miami Speedway. He hasn’t won at all in 2018, but he has a solid chance of ending that run in the last week of the season.
