This week’s NASCAR action comes from Pennsylvania, as the 2018 Gander Outdoors 400 makes its 45th running on Sunday afternoon, with the action set to start at 2:30pm Eastern time on NBC Sports Network. Pocono Raceway tends to produce fast finishes, so as you consider your sports betting for this race, take a look at the odds below, and our perspective on five of the drivers slated to run on Sunday. Kyle Busch returns as the defending champion, and he looks for his sixth win on the season. However, there are a number of exciting drivers to consider, such as Erik Jones, who picked up his first career victory a week ago. Here’s a closer look at the NASCAR odds for this race.

Chase Elliott is a long shot to consider here. Erik Jones picked up the first win of his career recently, and Elliott could be due. He finished fifth a week ago and has made it into the top 10 in four of his last seven starts. At the Pocono Raceway, Elliott has done particularly well, with four top 10 finishes in five races overall — with the other coming in 33rd two years ago. This is a young driver who is locked in right now, so take the value that the moneyline gives you. Martin Truex Jr has nine finishes in the top four in his last ten events — and he has three wins in the last seven races overall. When NASCAR was at Pocono earlier this year, Truex won, and he has finished in the top six in four of his last seven races here. That recent success is pushing Truex up the odds table, but as well as he’s been racing recently, it’s hard to argue for kicking him off your card. Kurt Busch has a long dry spell going right now, which is why he continues to slide down the odds list. His last win came back in 2016, when he won the Daytona 500. However, his form has improved recently, as he has four top 10 finishes in his last six starts. He has won the Gander Outdoors 400 twice already and has six finishes in the top seven in his last 11 races at the Pocono Raceway. He’s definitely looking to end his exile from the winner’s circle this week. Denny Hamlin is another driver looking for redemption this week. He has only finished in the top five twice in his last seven starts, and he finished in 13th place once again. This is his longest drought without a win in any season in five years, and if there is a track where he will break out, this should be it. He has won the Gander Outdoors 400 twice, and he has four wins overall at Pocono Raceway. He has cracked the top 10 five times in his last nine races here. Kyle Busch came in second last week and has seven top five finishes in his last eight races. He has only finished outside the top 10 once since the KC Masterpiece 400 back in May. Busch won this event in 217 and has six top 10 finishes in his last 10 races here. He already has five wins under his belt and is deservedly a co-favorite to make it six. Based on his history on this track, I’m willing to eat a little value.
