2019 Aragon MotoGP Odds & Betting Preview

Marc Marquez moved into fourth place overall in career GP wins with 77 after making a terrific pass in the last lap at the San Marino Grand Prix last week. Who Can Beat Marquez?

Fabio Quartararo was one turn from beating Marquez last weekend. He has an idea of what he would need to do to finish the job the next time. However, as we mentioned above, Marquez has owned Aragon for the last three years, as he holds the outright lap record. Dovizioso came in second place last year, just 0.648 seconds behind Marquez after a gripping battle that lasted almost the entire race.

What Other Drivers Should You Keep an Eye Out For?

Dovizioso struggled last week; he entered the race in sixth on the grid and finished the race in sixth place as well. The Ducati team struggled as a whole here, as Miller finished ninth and Petrucci finished 10th. No Ducati rider has won at Aragon since 2010, when Casey Stoner won here. He won again the next year, riding for Repsol Honda. Maverick Vinales has one career podium at Aragon, when he finished second in the Moto3 race here behind Alex Rins. Valentino Rossi is a nine-time world champion but does not have a career win at Aragon, one of just four courses that have denied him. Rins has not had a podium in premier MotoGP at Aragon in the last six years; he did come in second here in 2015 in Moto2 and won the whole thing in Moto3 in 2013. He finished fourth in 2018, and Iannone finished in third. Jorge Lorenzo earned the pole in 2018 at Aragon, however, in the very first turn, Marquez went up the inside, while Lorenzo tried to stay with him on the outside, once he hit the throttle, he high-sided, suffering a foot injury. He has had a number of injuries since then, including a wreck at Assen where he fractured a vertebra. He is a five-time world champion, but for now he is struggling to return to top form.

Who’s the Sleeper Pick?

Jack Miller is an interesting sleeper. He started the race in tenth place on the grid and moved up one slot to finish in ninth place. He is having a better year in 2019 than he did a year ago, and while we expect him to stay in the top ten, he could push hard and deliver a surprise. Given the value that he offers, he is someone to consider adding to your card.
