Brad Keselowski

Keselowski is the defending champion and came in second here two years ago. He has gone into a bit of a drought as far as winning races in 2019 goes, but he has cracked the top five in each of his last two races, so this could be the right time for him to draw the checkered flag. Keselowski has done well at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway throughout his career, with five top ten finishes in his last eight starts.

Kyle Busch

Busch has not won a race since early June, when he won at Pocono, so that hot streak at the start of 2019 has definitely cooled off. However, he has won the Big Machine Vodka 400 at the Brickyard twice and has four top-two finishes in his last seven appearances in this race. In the NASCAR Xfinity Series, Busch has three career victories at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He is the favorite for a reason, but I’m not sure if he offers enough value to put him on the card given recent form.

Kyle Larson

Larson is a bit of a sleeper here, as he has been sniffing the leaderboard during July and August, without winning outright. He has three top-ten finishes in his last five races at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway while racing in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. He also raced here four times in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, with an average finish of 7.5. He does have some consistency on this track and has solid form as of late, so with that value you should consider adding him.

Kevin Harvick

Harvick has two wins in his last six races, definitely picking up from a slow start to 2019. He has five top-seven finishes in those same six events. He won the Big Machine Vodka 400 at the Brickyard in 2003 and has an average result of 5.4 in his last five races at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He has made the top ten in each race here since 2013. So with that consistency and the slightly higher value, consider wagering on Harvick.

Denny Hamlin

Hamlin has definitely had a bit of a rebirth to his career in 2019. He has seven top-five finishes in his last 10 races, and he has four top-five finishes in his last five races at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. It is true that he has never won a race here, but he has become a constant factor on the leaderboard once again in 2019, which is why he is so high on the odds list.
