Kevin Harvick

Harvick keeps cracking the top ten, so even though he has yet to win a race this season, he remains a smart pick. He has won the Camping World 400 twice already and has five top-five finishes in his last eight races at the Chicagoland Speedway. In the NASCAR Xfinity Series, he has picked up three victories as well. Could this be the end to his drought?

Brad Keselowski

Another two-time winner of this event is Brad Keselowski, and he already has picked up three victories in 2019. In his last eight starts at the Chicagoland Speedway, he has eight top-nine finishes. At the 2011 Camping World 300, Keselowski picked up the win in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Given that he has been winning about once a month so far in 2019, Keselowski seems due to get the checkered flag.

Denny Hamlin

Hamlin has re-emerged a bit this year, with some solid races, including three impressive races in a row. At the Chicagoland Speedway, Hamlin has an average finish of 4.8 in his last five starts, and he won the Camping World 400 four years ago. In his last ten races here, he has seven top-eight finishes.

Kyle Busch

Busch has ten top-five finishes in the first 16 races of 2019, and he is yet another two-time winner, having finished first in 2008 and 2018. Busch has nine first-place trophies from this track in other series, with four in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and five more in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series. With that consistency on this track and his form this year, it is no surprise to see him as the favorite.

Martin Truex Jr

Truex Jr has won here in two of the last three years, with an average finish of 2 in those three starts. He has won four races already in the last ten weeks — can he win a fifth? He does bring slightly more value than the top favorites.

Kyle Larson

Larson won four races in 2017 — but has not win a single race since. In 2018, he picked up a dozen top-five finishes, but he only has cracked the top five once this year, coming in third at Dover. He is in 15th place in the standings right now, and only the top 16 make the playoffs, so he is starting to feel the pressure. In his first six starts at the Chicagoland Speedway, his average finish has been 7.0, so he’s a decent dark horse.

Erik Jones

Jones is another interesting dark horse driver. He started 2019 with a third-place finish at the Daytona 500 and finished third in Kansas and at Pocono. He is just in 18th place right now, and with a sixth-place result here in 2018, he has a decent history here.
