Top Boxing Betting Picks of the Week – May 29th Edition

Javier “El Intocable” Molina (17-2, 8 KO) vs Jessie Roman (22-3, 11 KO) marks Molina’s return to the ring. Molina is one of three brothers in a boxing family, and Molina and his twin, Oscar, fought in Beijing during the 2008 Olympics, and Carlos, their other brother, had a fine career as a super lightweight contender. Molina’s own career has lasted almost a decade, and he has taken on some elite competition. Molina is looking to extend on that past success with his fight against Roman. In a pre-game press conference, Molina claimed that Roman will get the toughest fight of his life when the two square off on Friday night. Roman is just 26 years old but brings an aggressive fighting style to the ring. He lost a grueling battle to Eddie Ramirez back in 2016, but since then, he has brought two consecutive wins via stoppage. Both of these fighters like to bring the action forward instead of waiting back in a defensive posture, so this fight promises to bring lots of punches and lots of time with the fighters going toe to toe. Roman is looking for his third win in a row and a chance to ascend in the division. Boxing Betting Prediction: Roman wins via stoppage Jaron “Boots” Ennis (19-0, 17 KO) vs “Mighty” Mike Arnaoutis (26-10-2, 13 KO) features an exciting welterweight matchup as the main event in Boardwalk Boxing Round 2 on Friday night. Ennis is the third brother in his family to get into boxing, behind Farah and Derek “Pooh” Ennis. Their father, Derek, is also their trainer. Ennis turned professional two years ago and has fought numerous times in the months since then, ending almost all of his fights early. He brings the fight to the opponent, using combinations and a huge haymaker to bring the fights that he has to this point to a swift end. Arnaoutis will be the toughest competition that Ennis has had to this point in his career. Arnaoutis has fought international competition such as Kendall Holt, Danny Garcia, Victor Ortiz, Devli Rodriguez, Demetrius Hopkins and Chris Algieri, while Ennis’ competition has been primarily regional and local. Will Ennis become the latest success story to emerge from the boxing gyms of Philadelphia? We’ll see how his first bout against big-time competition goes on Friday. Boxing Betting Prediction: Arnaoutis wins via decision Emanuel Navarrete (24-1, 21 KO) vs Jose San Martin (26-4-1, 17 KO) gives us the third-ranked featherweight and the twelfth-ranked featherweight in a bout for an open title. San Martin has won six bouts in a row since a disqualification against Tomas Rojas back in August 2016. His last loss in the ring came in April 2016, when he dropped a split decision to Luis Melendez. Since then, he has beaten Yeison Cohen, Jorge Bonilla, Jose de Jesus Lopez and Wilmer Basora by knockout and Gregory Vera by unanimous decision. In his last fight, in December, he beat Marlembron Acuna vis referee’s technical decision. Navarrete has a streak of 19 consecutive wins dating back to July 2012, when he lost a unanimous decision to Daniel Argueta. Navarrete has brought his last seven fights to a stop via knockout or TKO, with his most recent win coming on March 10, when he stopped Breilor Teran by TKO. This fight pits two big punchers against each other, and it will likely be the first to find a hole in the other’s defenses and land a huge blow that will win. Boxing Betting Prediction: Navarrete wins via stoppage
