2019 AT&T Byron Nelson Odds & Betting Preview

2019 AT&T Byron Nelson Odds & Betting Preview

Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas, Texas, prepares to host the 2019 AT&T Byron Nelson this weekend — just one week before the PGA Championship, which has moved from the fall to May. So while the field at the Byron Nelson might be short some of the game’s top names, there is still the opportunity for sports betting enthusiasts to make some money wagering on this week’s event. The top-ranked player in the field is Brooks Koepka, who is using this tournament as a sort of tune-up before he defends his PGA Championship title from a year ago. Hideki Matsuyama, Henrik Stenson, Marc Leishman and Patrick Reed are some of the other top golfers in the field. A player of interest here is former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, who received a sponsor’s exemption from AT&T to play in the event. Can Romo make the cut? Who will walk away with first place? We have the golf odds for the contenders as well as suggestions for your wager cards.

Jordan Spieth

Spieth is playing this event for the ninth time. He tied for 16th in his very first appearance, when he was 17, but he has not finished any better since then. He grew up in Dallas, playing golf for Jesuit High School, but he has not been able to parlay that into any better finishes here. To be fair, Trinity Forest Golf Course wasn’t even around when Spieth played his first Byron Nelson.

Aaron Wise

Wise returns as the defending champion; in 2018, the Byron Nelson was played at Trinity Forest for the first time. He had a 54-hole lead with Marc Leishman and then ran away wiht the match on Sunday. He was the second-youngest winner of the Byron Nelson, at the age of 21.

Brooks Koepka

Koepka remains the best player here. He has only missed one cut since August and finished as the runner-up at the Honda Classic and the Masters. He was the runner-up at the AT&T Byron Nelson three years ago and has made the cut in three of his four appearances at this tournament. Koepka is way ahead of much of the competition in terms of moneyline, so it’s worth considering him on your card.

Charles Howell III

He has missed two straight cuts and has not cracked the top 25 since the Arnold Palmer. However, the AT&T Byron Nelson has been good to him, as he has made seven cuts in eight tries and has three top-10 finishes in his last four stops here. He won the RSM Classic after missing a cut, so look to his track record here and his tendency to bounce back if you want to pick this dark horse.

Kevin Na

Na finished in the top 10 at the RBC Heritage, which was a nice change after he missed some cuts. He came in sixth at the AT&T Byron Nelson in 2018, and given the tough and unique nature of this course, that could go a long way toward helping him win this year. He is due for a tournament like this, with a tough course and a diluted field, so consider him as another dark horse.
