Top NBA Betting Picks of the Week – January 28th Edition

Only four teams in the Western Conference have a better home winning percentage than the .720 mark the Dallas Mavericks have at this point in the season. The problem for the Mavericks comes on the road, where they have a .167 winning percentage. Luka Doncic put up his second triple-double as a Maverick on Sunday night — but the Mavericks still fell to Toronto, 123-120. Toronto by three. As far as the West standings, Golden State is running away with things right now, winners of 10 in a row and 1 ½ games ahead of Denver. Milwaukee and Toronto sit atop the East, with the Bucks ahead on percentage points. We have three solid NBA betting picks for you to look at from the Association for the coming week.

Golden State at Indiana (7:00pm ET, NBA TV)

Winners of ten in a row, the Golden State Warriors continue their East Coast swing in Indiana on Monday night. They beat the Wizards by eight on Thursday and the Celtics by four on Saturday. In that 115-111 victory over Boston, Golden State got 33 points and nine boards from Kevin Durant, 24 points from Stephen Curry and 21 points from Klay Thompson. The game had 21 lead changes, but the Warriors went ahead for good with 45 seconds left in the fourth period. This was the third time in the last five years that Golden State has ended a 10-game home winning streak for an opponent. Next up for the Warriors come the Indiana Pacers. Indiana saw a three-game winning streak come to an end on Saturday in Memphis, losing by three to the Grizzlies. That was just Memphis’ second win in their last 16 games — but the Pacers certainly had an excuse after losing Victor Oladipo (knee) for the season in their lsat game out. That takes 18.8 points per game out of the lineup. Bojan Bogdanovic led the Pacers with 21 points in the loss, and Darren Collison added 18 points and nine assists. But can the Pacers regroup without Oladipo in time for the Warriors? NBA Betting Prediction: Golden State 117, Indiana 108

Milwaukee at Detroit (7:00pm ET)

The Bucks saw a six-game winning streak come to an end in Oklahoma City on Sunday night, losing by a 118-112 score in a game where the Thunder’s Paul George put up 36 points and 13 rebounds. For Milwaukee, Giannis Antetokounmpo had 27 points and 18 rebounds, and Khris Middleton chipped in 22 points. Brook Lopez went 4 for 4 from downtown in the first quarter but fizzled after that. Now the Bucks go to Detroit to face a Pistons team that has dropped three of four, including a 106-101 loss in Dallas on Friday night. Blake Griffin put up 35 points for Detroit, giving him eight games with at least 30 points in the last 11, but he got blocked on a late attempt by Maxi Kleber. The Pistons continue to struggle to finish against opponents with similar records, and it’s hard to see them dealing with the wealth of offensive weapons that the Bucks have. NBA Betting Prediction: Milwaukee 109, Detroit 100

Philadelphia at L.A. Lakers (10:30pm, TNT)

The 76ers have won two of three but started their West Coast road trip with a thud, losing by 16 in Denver on Saturday. Joel Embiid did get the night off for Philadelphia, so the 76ers didn’t really have anyone to counteract the 32-point night from Nikola Jokic (including 17 points in the first period). Jimmy Butler (wrist) and Wilson Chandler (hamstring) also missed the game, and JJ Redick led the team with 22 points, while Corey Brewer chipped in 20. Now the Sixers head to Hollywood to take on a Lakers team that ended a three-game skid by knocking off Phoenix, 116-102, at home on Sunday. In the Lakers’ win, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Ivica Zubac each put up 24 points and Brandon Ingram scored 22, as the Lakers were able to win for the first time while missing both Lonzo Ball and LeBron James. Kyle Kuzma (hip) and Tyson Chandler (rest) were also scratched, but the Lakers were able to win anyway. Can the Lakers hold off the Sixers without King James? NBA Betting Prediction: Philadelphia 121, Los Angeles 117
