Top NBA Betting Picks of the Week – November 26th Edition

Written by on November 26, 2018

Don’t look now, but the Cleveland Cavaliers have crept out of the basement of the Eastern Conference, winning two in a row to slip past Atlanta into a tie for 13th with Chicago, thanks in large part to the play of Tristan Thompson and rookie point guard Collin Sexton. Toronto still leads the East with a record of 17-4, riding a five-game winning streak. In the West, inconsistency is the order of the day, as no team has  a current winning streak longer than Denver (three). The Clippers have won eight of ten to sit at 12-6, technically a half-game behind Golden State but even in winning percentage. We’ve put together a list of three NBA betting picks for you to consider in the week ahead.

Top NBA Betting Picks of the Week – November 26th Edition

Monday, November 26

Milwaukee at Charlotte (7:00pm ET)

The Milwaukee Bucks have won just six of ten but still lead the Central Division. They started a new winning streak on Saturday, taking down the San Antonio Spurs on the second night of a back-to-back, 135-129. Giannis Antetokounmpo put up 34 points and 18 boards, leading Milwaukee back from an 11-point gap in the fourth period. Fourteen of those 34 came in the final frame. Khris Middleton nailed a three-ball, Eric Bledsoe made a tough lay-up in traffic and Malcolm Brogdon sank a shot from distance with 8.9 seconds left to seal the win. The Bucks head to Charlotte to face a Hornets team that has dropped two in a row, including a 124-123 setback in Atlanta on Sunday. Charlotte had no answer for John Collins, who had 23 points and 11 boards and even swatted a runner by Kemba Walker as regulation ended. Walker is the second-leading scorer in the league but went just 7 for 23 for 22 points in the loss. Malik Monk had a career best 26 points, and Marvin Williams scored 20 points and pulled down 13 boards. Despite scoring over 40 points in the first quarter, the Hornets could not seal the win. It’s hard to see them having much to say about the Greek Freak on Monday. NBA Betting Prediction: Milwaukee 110, Charlotte 101

L.A. Lakers at Denver (9:00pm ET, NBA TV)

The Los Angeles Lakers have started to gel nicely as a young contender in the West, winners of seven of their last ten despite falling on Sunday at home to the Orlando Magic, 108-104. That made a season sweep for Orlando by the Lakers. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope went just 1 for 5 on the night as the Lakers went cold from downtown and could not complete a comeback. The Lakers are still learning how to work with LeBron James and understanding when he will force his own shots and when he will distribute, and his distribution led to some clanks by teammates. The Lakers head to Denver to take on one of the top teams in the West. The Nuggets had cooled off but have won three in a row, including a 105-98 victory in Oklahoma City on Saturday. It was a plucky win for the Nuggets, as they were missing Gary Harris (ankle). Jamal Murray had 22 points, eight boards and eight assists to pace Denver to the win. Torrey Craig held Russell Westbrook to just 6-of-23 shooting for 16 points, and Westbrook went 0 for 6 in the fourth quarter. The Nuggets have the defense to keep the Lakers at bay as well, particularly at home. NBA Betting Prediction: Denver 107, Los Angeles 102

Wednesday, November 28

New York at Philadelphia (7:00pm ET, NBA TV)

The New York Knicks sit at just 7-14 but have won three in a row, including a victory in Memphis on Sunday by the score of 103-98. Enes Kanter dominated the paint, scoring 21 points and pulling down a career-best 26 rebounds. Tim Hardaway Jr. had 22 points and Emmanuel Mudiay chipped in 17. The Knicks had to fight back from a deficit that got as large as 13 (68-55) in the third period, picking up a solid win against a tough Memphis team. New York visits a 76ers team that has won seven of ten, including a 127-125 win at Brooklyn on Sunday. Jimmy Butler iced the game with a three-ball with 2.3 seconds left on the clock from the right wing, as Philadelphia had fought from a 20-point deficit to win despite the fact that the Nets had led most of the way. Philadelphia will need to get more consistent effort for 48 minutes to contend, and they will get all they want from a game New York team. NBA Betting Prediction: Philadelphia 106, New York 104
