NFL Week 6 Over/Under Picks

NFL Week 6 Over/Under Picks

Written by on October 9, 2018

This year, it seems like more and more games in the National Football League are coming down to the last drive, which makes betting against the point spread an exciting wager. It also can make the point total another exciting sports betting option because the outcome of the last drives can influence whether the teams combine to score enough points to go over the pre-set total. We have some NFL Week 6 betting predictions for each over/under line for you to review.

NFL Week 6 Over/Under Picks

Thursday, October 11

Philadelphia at N.Y. Giants

  • NFL Week 6 Odds: 44.5
We have one stout defense (in the case of Philadelphia), and two offenses that can move the ball in a hurry. I see the Eagles working out some frustrations from their loss to Minnesota and the point total going over.

Sunday, October 14 (1:00pm ET games)

Tampa Bay at Atlanta

  • NFL Week 6 Odds: 57.5
Jameis Winston will start at quarterback for the Buccaneers, which will either turn into feast or famine. The Falcons only put up 17 points last week against Pittsburgh and will be looking to move the ball as well. I see this turning into an NFC South track meet with the points going over.

Carolina at Washington

  • NFL Week 6 Odds: 45.5
Carolina put up 33 against New York this past weekend, and the Redskins’ defense hasn’t been much stouter than that of the Giants. I see this game going over pretty easily as the Panthers get into the 30s again with the Redskins a touchdown or two behind.

Seattle vs Oakland (in London)

  • NFL Week 6 Odds: 47.5
This game could bog down pretty easily, as Oakland has a hard time moving the ball — but so can the Seahawks. This game is in London, which makes jet lag and the distractions of international travel as well. I’d probably stay away from this point total, because these overseas games turn into routs as well, but if you’re dead set on this game, I’d take the under.

Indianapolis at N.Y. Jets

  • NFL Week 6 Odds: 45.5
You have a pair of offenses that can score in bunches, along with a shoddy defense in Indy and an iffy defense in New York. I’m going over here.

Arizona at Minnesota

  • NFL Week 6 Odds: 42.5
This is a pretty low point total given how bad the Arizona defense is. Josh Rosen was able to guide the Cardinals to 28 points against the 49ers. I see the Vikings putting up a pretty big point number here, but I also see the Cardinals scoring at least  a couple of touchdowns, so I’m going over.

Pittsburgh at Cincinnati

  • NFL Week 6 Odds: 53
You have two high-powered offenses to this point in the season, and you have a Pittsburgh defense that gives up a ton of points and a Cincinnati defense that can be inconsistent. Give me the over.

L.A. Chargers at Cleveland

  • NFL Week 6 Odds: 44.5
Only one Cleveland game has yielded more than  this total — and it yielded 87. That game was on the road, and Cleveland clamped the defense back on this past week. Give me the under.

Buffalo at Houston

  • NFL Week 6 Odds: 42
Buffalo doesn’t score much, and Houston couldn’t get out of their own way against Dallas. However, the Bills don’t really have much defense in terms of consistency, and Deshaun Watson looks ready for a monster game. I’ll take the over.

Chicago at Miami

  • NFL Week 6 Odds: 42
Both teams have physical defenses and offenses that are works in progress as far as consistency goes. I’m going under here.

Sunday, October 14, 4:05pm ET

L.A. Rams at Denver

  • NFL Week 6 Odds: 53
That’s a high point total for a game in which I don’t see Denver scoring more than a couple of touchdowns. I’m going under.

Sunday, October 14 (4:25pm ET games)

Baltimore at Tennessee

  • NFL Week 6 Odds: 41
Tennessee has played in a lot of low-scoring affairs this season, and Baltimore was held to nine points in Cleveland last week. Give me the under.

Jacksonville at Dallas

  • NFL Week 6 Odds: 40.5
Two underwhelming offenses, two fairly stout defenses. I’m staying away from this one with my own betting because this is the sort of day when Blake Bortles either goes nuts for three touchdowns or throws a pair of pick-sixes, either of which would push the point total high. If you want to go by the book, though, stay under.

Sunday, October 14, 8:20pm ET

Kansas City at New England
  • NFL Week 6 Odds: 59.5
This game might crack 80 points. I see this turning into a track meet from the get-go with Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady swapping drives. I’ll take the over.

Monday, October 15, 8:15pm ET

San Francisco at Green Bay
  • NFL Week 6 Odds: 46.5
Aaron Rodgers hasn’t been leading teams to as many points this year. San Francisco has a backup quarterback. I’ll take the under.
