2019 Pro Bowl Game Betting Preview

Written by on January 22, 2019

The week between the conference championships and the Super Bowl is when the 2019 Pro Bowl takes place, a showcase of the league’s best players who are not appearing in the Super Bowl the next week. This year, the game takes place at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida. The NFC side will be coached by Jason Garrett and the rest of the Dallas Cowboys’ coaching staff, and Anthony Lynn and the rest of the Los Angeles Chargers’ coaching staff will coach the AFC side. While there is not a lot of defense played in this game, and there is nothing competitive on the line, some NFL betting enthusiasts like the action on which side will win. Check out our preview below.

The point spread for this game has not yet been announced, nor has the over/under point total. However, if we look at recent history, we see that the trend toward high point totals usually leads to some big “under” results. For example, in 2018, the point total was 69 ½, but the teams ony generated 47 points between them. The underdog has also covered in 10 of the last 15 games, perhaps because the spreads are low, but also because of the rash of last-minute injuries leading to replacements, as well as the fact that the game is more of a showcase than a hard-fought contest. We have published the latest rosters for you below. There may be more replacements in the next few days, so check the latest updates before locking in any wagers. Stay clear of the temptation to go over the point total, particularly if that total is more than 65 points, because that simply hasn’t been the pattern in recent years. The games have been close, which one would expect given the fun atmosphere on both sides. Given the fact that there are more key injuries on the AFC roster, I’m leaning more toward the NFC personally. However, there is such parity in the league that an exhibition like this could easily come down to the last drive of the game.
