2019 NFL Week 3 Odds, Predictions & Picks

Written by on September 17, 2019

Are the San Francisco Giants a juggernaut? They have 72 points of offense through the first two weeks and routed Cincinnati on the road in Week 2. Will the Green Bay Packers win the NFC North? They have already beaten their two top rivals in the division, Chicago and Minnesota, in the first two weeks of the 2019 campaign. Is Dallas for real? Dak Prescott became the first Cowboys quarterback ever to have two consecutive games in which he threw for at least 250 yards and three touchdown passes. Find out our NFL betting thoughts on each matchup for Week 3.

2019 NFL Week 3 Odds, Predictions & Picks

Thursday, September 19

Tennessee (-2.5) at Jacksonville (8:20pm ET, NFL Network)

Jacksonville’s defense remains stout — and while the Titans hung 43 on Cleveland in their opener, Marcus Mariota’s unit remains inconsistent. Give me Jacksonville to cover in a messy, ugly Thursday night game.

Sunday, September 22

Cincinnati (+6) at Buffalo (1:00pm ET, CBS)

The Bills are 2-0 after a 14-point win in New York over the Giants. The Bengals just got rolled at home by 24 by the 49ers. Give me Buffalo to win and cover.

Miami (+20.5) at Dallas (1:00pm ET, FOX)

That’s a huge spread for the Cowboys to cover, and it’s likely to grow with the action. When the point total comes out, I’d take a harder look at the over/under. For now, though, give me the over in this game.

Denver (+7) at Green Bay (1:00pm ET, FOX)

Green Bay is 2-0, while Denver has struggled to move the ball in their first two games, I like Green Bay to win and cover.

Atlanta (+3) at Indianapolis (1:00pm ET, FOX)

The Colts mounted a nice comeback at home against Philadelphia, while Indianapolis ground out a win over the Titans. The Falcons have a much better offense and should get enough defense. Give me the Falcons to cover.

Baltimore (+6.5) at Kansas City (1:00pm ET, FOX)

Lamar Jackson will test the Kansas City defense, as his performance through two weeks has been outstanding. The Chiefs’ offense sputtered at times against the Raiders in Week 2 — and the Baltimore defense is much better. I like Baltimore to cover.

Oakland (+7.5) at Minnesota (1:00pm ET, FOX)

Derek Carr is playing as well as he has in years, and the Raiders are responding. Minnesota is 1-1 after seeing their defense fail in Green Bay. I like Oakland to cover.

N.Y. Jets (+17.5) at New England (1:00pm ET, CBS)

The Jets will have backup Trevor Siemian at quarterback. The Patriots have been taking their opponents to the woodshed so far this year. New England to win and cover.

Detroit (+7.5) at Philadelphia (1:00pm ET, FOX)

Detroit tied the Cardinals and then beat the Chargers. Which team will make it to Philadelphia? Which Eagles team will show up? Give me Detroit to cover.

Carolina (+3.5) at Arizona (4:05pm ET, FOX)

Carolina looks like they are in trouble after losing to Tampa Bay last Thursday. Kyler Murray has led two terrific comebacks in his first two starts — give me the Cards to win and cover.

N.Y. Giants (+6) at Tampa Bay (4:05pm ET, FOX)

The Giants lost by 14 at home to Buffalo last week, while Tampa Bay played well in Carolina last Thursday. Give me Tampa Bay to cover.

Houston (+3) at L.A. Chargers (4:25pm ET, CBS)

When will Houston’s offense show up? When will the Chargers’ for that matter? Give me the under in this game.

Pittsburgh (NL) at San Francisco (4:25pm ET, CBS)

Wait on this game until the health of Ben Roethlisberger has been determined for the Steelers. Even with him in the game, though, take the 49ers as long as the line is seven points or less.

New Orleans (NL) at Seattle (4:25pm ET, CBS)

Drew Brees’ throwing hand remains a question for this game, which is why there is no line yet. Given how well Seattle’s defense is playing, I would take the Seahawks to cover if New Orleans is favored by six points or more, even with Brees in the game.

L.A. Rams (+3) at Cleveland (8:20pm ET, NBC)

The Rams looked solid in dismantling the Saints, and we still haven’t seen a good game out of the Browns, with Monday night’s game against the Jets coming up. Right now, though, I like the Rams to cover.

Monday, September 23

Chicago (-6.5) at Washington (8:15pm ET, ESPN) Chicago edged out a struggling Denver team at home. Washington has a dangerous offense, if they can get their offensive line going. I like Washington to cover.
