2019 NFL Week 3 Parlay Picks

Written by on September 17, 2019

One of the most exciting ways to build your sports betting profits involves placing parlay wagers — bets that only pay if two (or more) of your bets turn out winners. The NFL odds increase, which means that the payouts increase, so if you turn out to be right, you make more money than you would have if you had placed the bets separately. We have three parlay picks from Sunday and Monday’s NFL action for you to consider. Home teams are in all caps.

2019 NFL Week 3 Parlay Picks

Brunch Betting (1:00pm ET games)

NEW ENGLAND (-17.5) over N.Y. Jets

You will need to hurry if you want to be able to get this point spread, because the Jets just lost at home to Cleveland by 20 and saw backup quarterback Trevor Siemian go down to injury, leaving Luke Falk to run the offense. Falk was not bad against Cleveland, but he is the third-string quarterback for a reason. The Jets do have a good pass rush, but their secondary is giving up way too many long completions. New England has beaten Pittsburgh by 30 and Miami by 43. The Jets are not as competitive as the Steelers were and may be as dreadful as the Dolphins with Falk at the helm. New England has shown no signs of taking their foot off the gas when they have a chance to run up the score, so I’m picking New England to win and cover.

BUFFALO (-6) over Cincinnati

Buffalo is 2-0 after scoring 17 unanswered points to rally against the New York Jets and doubling up the Giants, 28-14. Josh Allen is doing a better job of not forcing passes into windows where an interception is likely, and as a result the Bills are sustaining drives, allowing their stout defense to rest between possessions. The Cincinnati Bengals lost a squeaker in Seattle to start the season and then got routed at home by San Francisco in Week 2. Now they are about to head into a stadium full of rabid Bills fans, taking on a Buffalo team that appears to have a solid scheme in place. Give me Buffalo to win and cover.

Twilight Triumphs (4:05pm/4:25pm ET games)

TAMPA BAY (-6) over N.Y. Giants

Tampa Bay picked up an impressive road win in Carolina this past week, while the New York Giants got shellacked at home by 14, by the Buffalo Bills (who won two games in the same road stadium against two different teams in their first two weeks). Tampa Bay got a solid running game out of Peyton Barber, and quarterback Jameis Winston did enough to get his team the win. The Buccaneers’ defense was able to stop Cam Newton. The Giants have not committed to starting Eli Manning at quarterback after he threw two picks against Buffalo. That means that it could be rookie Daniel Jones for the G-men, but Jones does not play defense, and the defense was just as much a problem for New York as the offense was in their first two losses. That’s why I like Tampa Bay to win and cover.

ARIZONA (-3.5) over Carolina

The Panthers are 0-2 after losing to the Rams by three and then to the Buccaneers by six…with both losses coming at home. The questions about Cam Newton are mounting once again in Carolina, and now they head on the road to face an Arizona team that has played well in both games. The problem is that the Cardinals have fallen in deep holes before Kyler Murray has started to mount comebacks, leading to a tie against Detroit and a six-point loss in Baltimore. Kyler Murray will progress along his learning curve, which means that he won’t be starting his games as slowly as he has the first two. Carolina has a tough defense, but they have shown that you can throw the ball against him — and Murray is hitting short and middle range passes accurately. I like Arizona to win and cover.

Prime Time Picks

Sunday night: L.A. Rams (+3) over CLEVELAND

The Browns have a warrior at quarterback, but with that porous offensive line, he will not be upright for long. The Rams have one of the most punishing pass rushes in the NFL, as we saw when they got to Drew Brees enough times to cause him to need thumb surgery and miss the next six games, at least. Cleveland showed an explosive offense at times, but the Rams’ defense is much better than the Jets’. Give me the Rams to cover.

Monday night: Chicago (-6.5) over WASHINGTON

Washington’s secondary does not cover particularly well right now, as we saw in a comeback win for Philadelphia and a fairly easy win over the last three quarters for Dallas. The Bears don’t pass the ball as well as the Eagles or Cowboys, but they can grind out long possessions. Washington does not win a lot of battles in the trenches on defense, so Chicago should be able to control the pace, as they did in their win over Denver. I like Chicago to win and cover.
