Chiefs vs Rams NFL Week 11 Lines & Betting Prediction

The prime-time showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Rams, both sitting with 9-1 records, was moved to Los Angeles from Mexico City on Tuesday. The playing field at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City had been damaged by a combination of heavy rain, soccer games and concerts, and players for both teams had considered sitting the contest out if the league had moved ahead with the international site. So while this will be a home game for the Rams instead of a neutral-site contest, it will be interesting to see how full the Coliseum is. The Rams were issuing thousands of free tickets to first responders and people who have suffered losses due to the fires throughout southern California. Either way, we have a showdown between the high-flying Kansas City offense and a Rams team that can score in a hurry but also has a defense that can rise to the occasion. Check out our NFL betting preview of this possible Super Bowl preview.

Why should you bet on the Chiefs?

Patrick Mahomes is having an amazing debut season as the starting quarterback for the Chiefs. Through ten games, he has 31 touchdown passes against just seven interceptions, and his two top targets have been Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill, who have combined for 15 receiving touchdowns. The Kansas City running game adds plenty of balance, with Kareem Hunt leading the team with 754 yards and seven scores and with the team averaging almost 118 yards per game on the ground. The defense is the question mark for the Chiefs, as they have allowed 410 yards and 24 points per contest. The Chiefs have played well on Monday nights, covering in five of their last six appearances. They have also covered in 12 of their last 15 games overall and in six straight meetings with the Rams. Since the teams are in different conferences, though, head-to-head history can be a little misleading as the teams can go as long as four years between meetings. If you like the Chiefs, then you see their offense putting up points at a pace that the Rams simply can’t match.

Why should you put your money on the Rams?

Jared Goff has been almost as good as Mahomes this season. He has thrown for 22 touchdowns against six interceptions, and he has at least two scoring passes in six of his last eight starts. The two main targets in the passing game are Robert Woods and Brandin Cooks, who have scored six touchdowns between them. Todd Gurley II has made a case for MVP this season, running for 988 yards and 13 scores while catching 40 passes out of the backfield. The Rams’ defense has been slightly more generous this year, giving up 23.1 points per contest. The Rams have not fared as well as the Chiefs in their recent Monday night games, covering just twice in their last eight appearances. They have also covered just once in their last seven games overall, as they have barely escaped with a number of their latest victories. If you like the Rams, you see the Chiefs having a bit of a letdown on the road and their defense living down to its performances from early in the season, when the Chiefs had to score at a video-game pace to win.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

Kansas City has been winning their games by an average of over 17 points since they lost to the Patriots, as their offense has not encountered much in the way of resistance. The defense has also improved somewhat in the last month and a half, permitting no more than 21 points in any of their last six games. Also, the Rams lost wide receiver Cooper Kupp (ACL) for the season. Those factors combine to make me predict a final score of Chiefs 30, Rams 20.
