Washington at Connecticut (7:00pm ET)

The Washington Mystics visit the Connecticut Sun on Tuesday night, as the Sun looks to edge closer to Washington in the East standings. Washington dealt the New York Liberty a 95-78 beating on Saturday, as Elena Delle Donne had another huge game, scoring 30 points and pulling down 10 boards. Kristi Tolliver had 19 points and eight assists, and Tierra Ruffin-Pratt had a dozen points and four assists. Shatori Walker-Kimbrough and Ariel Atkins rounded out the double-figure scoring with 10 points apiece. The Mystics were able to do whatever they wanted in the paint, which made the difference against the Liberty. Connecticut went to Texas and gave the Dallas Wings a 92-75 thrashing on Sunday, as Shekinna Stricklen led the Sun with 24 points and pulled down five boards. Courtney M. Williams and Jonquel Jones each had 15 points, and Jasmine Thomas scored 11 points and dealt out nine assists. Ciney Ogwumike had 10 points and five boards, as the Sun were able to overcome a 25-point, 10-board effort from Wings center Liz Cambage. The Sun were just too quick for an overmatched Dallas defense on the perimeter. But can they play as well at home against the Mystics’ inside game? WNBA Betting Prediction: Connecticut 88, Washington 84

New York at Minnesota (8:00pm ET)

New York heads to Minnesota after taking that loss against Washington on Saturday. Tina Charles had a big night for the Liberty, with 22 points, five assists and five rebounds, and Sugar Rodgers had 16 points and three rebounds. Kia Nurse also hit double figures with 10 pints. However, Marissa Coleman went scoreless in 25 minutes, just grabbing three rebounds. New York will need more speed and balance to get a win in Minnesota. The Lynx are coming off an impressive 80-75 win in Phoenix on Saturday that pulled them within a half-game of the Mercury. Maya Moore had a huge night, scoring 38 points and grabbing six rebounds. Danielle Robinson had 16 points, four rebounds and three assists, and Seimone Augustus also hit double figures with 15 points. If Moore can have another big night inside against the Liberty, Minnesota should be able to hold off the Liberty. WNBA Betting Prediction: Minnesota 82, New York 69

Chicago at Phoenix (3:30pm ET)

Chicago takes their 8-17 record to Phoenix in hopes that they can start on a winning path. Their most recent setback came on Sunday as they took a 93-76 loss at the hands of the Los Angeles Sparks. In that loss, Stefanie Dolson led the way for Chicago with 20 points, and she also tied for the team in rebounds (six) while dishing out seven assists. Courtney Vandersloot scored 15 points and led the team in assists with 10, and Cheyenne Parker also put up double figures, scoring 14 points. The Sky just had no answers on defense, as all five starters for Los Angeles hit double figures, and Candace Parker dominated the paint, scoring 23 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Phoenix will be looking to rebound from their 80-75 loss to Minnesota on Saturday. DeWanna Bonner led the Mercury with 29 points and also pulled down five rebounds. Brittney griner had 10 points and five rebounds, and Diana Taurasi (14 points) and Stephanie Talbot (15 points) also hit double figures. The team simply had no way to stop Moore, and they will have to find some grittier defense to beat the Sky — but Chicago doesn’t have a playmaker like Moore. WNBA Betting Prediction: Phoenix 84, Chicago 77
