NASCAR Cup Series Odds and Betting Opportunities for Go Bowling at the Glen

Michael McDowell snatched a spot in the NASCAR Cup Series Playoff last week at the Verizon 200 at the Brickyard last Sunday. He led 54 of 82 laps on the road course at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in a clean race that had just one caution and offered green-flag conditions for the last 77 laps. This was McDowell’s second career win in the Cup Series, and he held the lead from Lap 6 to Lap 17 and then took it back on Lap 54 and did not let it get away again. Chase Elliott tried to pull off a comeback, needing a win to get to the playoffs, but he fell 0.937 seconds short. This week, the Cup Series moves to Watkins Glen International for Go Bowling at the Glen. We have the NASCAR betting picks for each driver and some wager card suggestions. The race is set for 3:00 pm Eastern time on Sunday, and you can watch the action on USA Network or listen on the Motor Racing Network or SiriusXM. Bet on the NASCAR Cup Series Go Bowling at the Glen!

Kyle Larson

has won the last two races at Watkins Glen and looks to pull off the threepeat. If he can do this, it would also make five straight wins at the Glen for his Hendrick Motorsports team.

Chase Elliott

was headed to his third win in four races at Watkins Glen until Larson ran him wide here at the end of the 2022 edition to steal the victory. Elliott also loves racing here and looks to be the spoiler after missing out on the playoffs.

Tyler Reddick

cracked the top five in Indianapolis last week after two subpar road-course performances. The road course is normally his best format, with three wins in his last road course starts among five top-five finishes.

Kyle Busch

flat spotted his tires last week; before that, he was in position to tahe the win. He came in fifth at Chicago and second at Circuit of the Americas and Sonoma, so he is an interesting value pick for this road-course race as well.

Martin Truex Jr

got the win at Sonoma, but that road course is more technical than Watkins Glen. The Glen is much closer to a superspeedway, making speed more important than driver skill. This makes Truex less of a threat to get the win.

Daniel Suarez

was undone by a bad pit stop at Indianapolis; according to the lap data, he had the most speed on the track. Trackhouse Chevrolet has wins on road courses at Chicago this year (Shane Van Gisbergen) and at Sonoma (Suarez) and Circuit of the Americas (Ross Chastain) last year.

Michael McDowell

controlled the road course this past week, but his car might not have the speed it needs to win at Watkins Glen. If you want to take him in a top-3 or top-5 prop, I’d recommend that more than I would a pick to win.

Ross Chastain

could benefit from the emphasis on speed at Watkins Glen. He drives without fear (and without etiquette, according to some of his competitors). That could set the stage for a win on Sunday.

Christopher Bell

has two career road course wins in the Cup Series, but they have come at the worst road courses (The Roval and Daytona). The more conventional road courses have been a problem for Bell. Expect him to crack the top ten, but I’m not betting on him to win.
