NASCAR Cup Series Odds to Win Driver’s Championship 2023: Early Favorites

Christopher Bell vaulted into the top spot in the NASCAR Cup Series points standings after his big win at the Food City Dirt Race on Sunday at Bristol Motor Speedway. Tyler Reddick put on a big push in the last stage, but Bell still held the lead when NASCAR brought out the 14th caution of the race with just 200 yards remaining. Bell is a dirt-track expert who won three consecutive Chili Bowl Midget Nationals between 2017 and 2019. This is Bell’s first Cup Series win of 2023 and the fifth of his NASCAR career. Let’s look at the NASCAR betting odds for each of the Cup Series drivers to win the championship for 2023, and we’ll also talk about how some of the top contenders are racing right now.

Christopher Bell

has been far from just a dirt racer this year. The only time he hasn’t been right there at the finish this year came at Auto Club Speedway, where he settled for 32nd place. He almost won at Atlanta, but the bump he gave Joey Logano pushed Logano to the win instead.

William Byron

has won twice and finished another race in the top five over his last six starts. He did finish 13th at the Food City Dirt Race, but dirt isn’t a surface on which he is an expert – and there are no more dirt races this year.

Ross Chastain

was challenging the leaders at the Food City Dirt Race, but we saw the downside of Chastain’s aggressive approach as he was involved in a multi-car crash that dropped him all the way down to 28th.

Kevin Harvick

is showing signs of life, with five top-ten finishes in his last seven races. At the Food City Dirt Race, he was able to avoid multiple crashes and ended up finishing ninth.

Tyler Reddick

has four top-five finishes in his last five races, including a victory.

Kyle Busch

has not cracked the top ten in either of his last two races. He led six laps at the Food City Dirt Race but had suspension problems down the stretch that kept him from finishing.

Kyle Larson

dominated the Food City Dirt Race early, leading the whole first stage. However, running into Ryan Preece caused him enough problems to finish 35th after having to park with damage.

Joey Logano

is the defending Cup Series champion, but he has finished dead last twice in the last six races. This includes the Food City Dirt Race, where Logano found himself in an early crash and then ran into the wall later on.

Martin Truex Jr

came in seventh at the Food City Dirt Race, giving him his first top-ten finish in the last five races.
