2019 Coca-Cola 600 Odds & Betting Preview

The longest race on the NASCAR calendar, the 2019 Coca-Cola 600, will be the thirteenth race of the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season. This race has been a tradition on Memorial Day weekend for years, and this year it makes Charlotte Motor Speedway the focus of the stock car racing world. Coming on the same day with one of the most storied races on the Formula 1 Grand Prix circuit on the other side of the globe, this is an event that you’ll want to watch — and include in your sports betting. Kyle Busch comes in as the defending winner, and he will look for his fourth win in 2019. Take a look at our list of NASCAR odds as well as suggestions for your wagering cards.

Kyle Busch

Busch did not race well in Kansas — and will be looking for some redemption this week. We’ve already mentioned his status as the defending champion, but he was also the runner-up here two years ago. He has eight top-ten finishes in his last 15 starts at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. He also has eight victories here with the Xfinity Series and the Gander Outdoors Truck Series. He does not offer a lot of value, but the combination of his history on this track and his poor showing last week (with the desire to get back on a solid streak) makes him a smart pick to get that fourth victory of the 2019 campaign.

Kevin Harvick

Harvick keeps showing up near the top of odds lists even though he is still winless in 2019. He didn’t crack the top 10 in Kansas, but the last three times he has failed to make that top ten, he has finished in the top five the next race. He has won the Coca-Cola 600 twice already, and he has five top-three finishes in his last ten starts at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. There’s also the fact that Harvick has only gone this long in a season without a win one other time in the last six seasons.

Jimmie Johnson

Johnson has actually slid down the moneyline list this week despite finishing in sixth place in Kansas. He has four top-ten finishes in his last nine starts overall, so even though he has not won a single race in a little over two years, we see that he is getting closer and closer. He has four Coca-Cola 600 titles, second only to Darrell Waltrip in the history of the event. He aos has five top-ten finishes in his last six starts at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. So if you find yourself looking for a dark horse, Johnson is one to consider.

Denny Hamlin

Hamlin is looking for his third win in 2019, but the last couple of races have been difficult for him, which is why he has slid down the odds list here. In his last four races at the Coca-Cola 600, he is averaging a fifth-place finish, and he has seven top-ten finishes in his last eight starts in this race. The event seems to fit his racing strengths, so I would take advantage of that value here.

Martin Truex Jr.

Truex Jr. has won two of the last four races in 2019, and he won the Coca-Cola 600 three years ago, with an average finish of 2.75 in his last four starts in this race. At the Charlotte Motor Speedway, he has six top-five finishes in his last eight starts. Given recent form and his work on this course, he’s another one to consider adding.
