2019 TicketGuardian 500 Odds, Preview & Predictions

The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series heads to the desert this weekend, as Phoenix’s ISM Speedway will host the 2019 TicketGuardian 500, with the race set for 3:30pm Eastern time on Sunday, and you can find the broadcast on FOX. This is the first flat-track NASCAR event of 2019 with the new aerodynamic and engine package, but Kevin Harvick is still right up there atop the favorites list. Joey Logano won in Las Vegas last week, giving the circuit three winners in three weeks, which makes it seem like Harvick might well be due to draw the checkered flag. We have the NASCAR odds list for this Sunday’s race as well as suggestions for your wager cards.

Kevin Harvick doesn’t offer much value but seems like the closest thing to a lock this week. He has won the TicketGuardian 500 five times — with four of those wins coming in the last five years, and he has 11 consecutive top-six finishes at the ISM Raceway, with nine wins here overall in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series — a 28.1% winning percentage in the 32 races he has started here. He also has five top-five finishes in his last six races here. He’s definitely someone for you to add to your card. Kyle Busch was right there at the end of all three of the races we have had so far this season and has five consecutive top-six finishes. At the TicketGuardian 500, he has averaged a third-place finishes in his last three starts and has seven straight finishes in the top seven at the ISM Raceway in his career. While racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series, he has picked up quite a few victories on this track as well. Ryan Newman is someone to consider if you’re looking for a long shot this week. He hasn’t had much luck lately, but he is one of just three drivers who have won the TicketGuardian 500 multiple times, and he has five top-seven finishes in this race in his last nine starts. He won the whole thing here two years ago — and delivered wins at +8000 odds. Since this is one of the few racetracks where Newman continues to produce solid results, you might consider taking advantage of that value. Chase Elliott finished in the top 10 in Las Vegas last year, his best finish in the 2019 campaign, and he has eight top-10 finishes in his last 12 races. He came in third at the 2018 TicketGuardian 500 and has an average finish of 9.5 in his six races as a Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series driver at the ISM Raceway — including a runner-up finish at the 2017 Can-Am 500. So he doesn’t have a ton of races here, but he has some big success. Denny Hamlin has quieted down since winning at the Daytona 500, but this could be his week to rebound, as he has an average finish of fifth in his last three TicketGuardian 500 appearances. At the ISM Raceway, he has six top-10 finishes in his last nine races, and he took the checkered flag in this race seven years ago, and he has eight top-10 finishes in 13 starts at this race overall. Given the value on his moneyline, consider adding him to your wager card.
