Los Angeles Rams 2019 NFL Season Win/Loss Total Betting Prediction

Will Super Bowl hangover plague the Los Angeles Rams in 2019? They made it all the way to Super Bowl LIII… only to fall to the New England Patriots. The Rams’ offense, which had been high-powered for most of the season, only mustered a field goal in the Super Bowl, as the 13-3 final was the lowest score ever for a Super Bowl. Now the Rams begin the 2019 campaign looking to defend their NFC West title. The sports betting books project their win total at 10 ½ games after a 13-3 2018 season. How will they fare against this total? Take a look at our thoughts on their prospects.

The opener at Carolina is an intriguing one. The Rams will have to travel across the country to play in a 1:00pm Eastern time zone game. They will face an enigmatic quarterback in Cam Newton. Will they be motivated? I’m picking this one as an upset loss. Then comes a home game against New Orleans — who will have a chip the size of Hollywood on their collective shoulders. Week 3 brings a trip to Cleveland, where Baker Mayfield has delivered miracles ever since arriving on the shores of Lake Erie. Can the Rams really fall to 0-3? They can, and I project that they will. Then we get some order with a home win over Tampa Bay, a win at Seattle and a home win over the 49ers. The Buccaneers are in a rebuilding season, and while Seattle will still have Russell Wilson, and while they play much tougher at home, that win over Tampa Bay will give the Rams the confidence and momentum to exploit their superior talent. They’ll come home and move to .500 with a win over the still-rebuilding 49ers. They’ll also roll through Atlanta, eking out a close win over another high-powered offense. So an 0-3 start will now look much better at 4-3. A home win over Cincinnati will send the Rams into the bye at 5-3 — and on a five-game winning streak. Then comes a trip to Pittsburgh, who I have pegged for a major setback with the departure of Antonio Brown and a culture that seems increasingly toxic. They will host the Bears next in prime time, and the overconfidence that built during a six-game winning streak will cost them, as the Bears will deliver another surprising win. Now 6-4, the Rams will take care of Baltimore at home, go to Arizona and deliver a blistering rout, and they will beat the Seahawks at home in prime time. Then (at 9-4) comes a trip to Dallas, where the Cowboys will be primed for revenge after losing to the Rams in the divisional round of the playoffs last year. I see the Cowboys taking a step back this year, as they haven’t done much to replace key losses in free agency, and I see Los Angeles outcoaching Dallas again. Then they finish at San Francisco (win) and at home against Arizona (big win). So despite the 0-3 start, I like the Rams to right the ship and finish 12-4. So I’m taking the “over.”
