Why should you bet on the Patriots?

The Patriots come into this game with extended rest as they played their game this past week on Thursday, rolling by 21 over the Giants. However, the offense did not play as much of a role as you might think, as the Pats returned a blocked punt for a touchdown and took a fumble back to the house as well, extending that final margin against a Giants team that has a rookie quarterback leading things in Daniel Jones. So we see that the Patriots are a versatile team that finds a lot of ways to score. The New England defense finished the day with four takeaways, showing that they can take advantage of an offense led by a young quarterback. Their offense showed versatility as well — their offensive touchdowns came on a pair of runs by 42-year-old Tom Brady, as the Giants did a fairly decent job of shutting down passes down the field. The weaknesses that the Giants showed against the running game proved crucial.

Why should you put your money on the Jets?

When these two teams played in Week 3, the Jets had Luke Falk, their third-string signal caller, running things, and the team only gained 105 yards of offense. They got one of their two touchdowns via a pick-six when Patriots backup quarterback Jarrett Stidham made a bad decision during garbage time. Mosely played a major role in the collapse of the Jets’ defense. Against Dallas, Darnold threw a bomb for a 92-yard touchdown that hit the receiver in stride, one of seven completions that he had for 15 or more yards against Dallas — a career best. The Patriots have shown holes in their secondary — holes that Darnold could exploit.

Sam Darnold is the second-best quarterback in the AFC East — better than Buffalo’s Josh Allen. He showed against Dallas that he is fearless against teams that are above the Jets in the standings.
