The highlight in that trio of wins was a 6-1 dismantling of the Montreal Canadiens that no-one saw coming. There was a sense that the Avs might be on the brink of turning their season around, but they started this week with a truly awful performance against the Toronto Maple Leafs, going down 5-1 on the road. They have 3 more games to come before this current 7-game road swing is complete, and they will have to play a whole lot better if they hope to get anything out of their visits to Pittsburgh, Washington, and Winnipeg.
