Hurricanes-Sabres NHL Betting Should Stay Close, Under 5.5

Written by on November 27, 2015

Before the season begins, NHL betting fans evaluate all the teams in an attempt to find the ones that will end up being a good bet on most nights. That means also locating teams that are likely to struggle, and for the most part, he teams expected to be at the bottom of the pile have in fact landed there. The Buffalo Sabres and Carolina Hurricanes are living up to lowly expectations, and will look to get a little boost when they hook up in Buffalo on Friday night.

NHL Betting Game Preview: Hurricanes vs Sabres

Date: Friday, November 27th, 2015 Time: 7:00PM Venue: First Niagara Center Opening Line: Buffalo -120 The Carolina Hurricanes (8-10-4) were not expected to be particularly good this season, but they have been something of a pleasant surprise. Looking at their overall record doesn’t really give an indication of how competitive they have been this season. Carolina are proving to be a very tough team to beat, and it’s fair to say that they deserve better than they have got this season. Things have been looking a little better recently, though, as Carolina have picked up wins in 2 of their last 3 games, and have picked up points in their last 4. As pleasing as all this has to be for Carolina, there is still the not so small matter of their inability to score goals. The Hurricanes are managing just 2.1 goals per game this season, and are also sitting dead last in power play efficiency. They have managed to score 4 goals in 2 of their last 3 games, so perhaps that’s a sign of them turning things around. The Buffalo Sabres (8-12-2) are a lot like Carolina in that they are a tough team to beat. They also end up losing more often than not because of their struggles in front of goal. The Sabres had somehow managed to claw their way back to .500 before hitting a part of their schedule that can best be described as brutal. They have gone just 0-4-2 in their last 6 games, and have only managed to score 7 goals during that run. Their one saving grace throughout the season has been the performance of their power play unit, but that is also starting to slide, as they haven’t found the net in their last 12 attempts, which stretches back through 4 games. Despite the results, this is not an awful team, and there are signs of improvement over the disaster that was last season. buffalo-sabres-nhl-betting

Hurricanes vs Sabres Betting Tips

Over the past 2 seasons, Buffalo and Carolina have split their regular season series right down the middle. All of their games tend to be of the close variety, and this one should be no different. I like the Hurricanes to win, and I particularly like the UNDER 5.5.
