The Seton Hall Pirates host the #23 Providence Friars on Thursday night in Big East action. The Pirates (19-7) are in third place in the Big East standings and just survived St. John’s on Sunday, 62-61. The Friars have lost four of their last five, the last loss was against no. 8 Xavier. Seton Hall is in a must-win situation if they want to secure an at-large bid into the NCAA tournament next month. Isaiah Whitehead, one of the best players in the Big East, went just 1 for 12 in his shooting (0-5 from three-point distance), posting one of his worst performances in his career. It was his free throws, though, after he grabbed a late rebound, that salted away the victory for the Pirates. So we know that Seton Hall can go through adversity and win.
