Thanksgiving Day showed us that Matt Patricia’s time in Detroit is coming to an end, as the Lions were taken apart by a Houston Texans team that had won just three games so far. In the later game, Dallas failed to take advantage of a chance to win a key home game against Washington, getting swept in the season series for the first time in 2012, as some bad decisions by head coach Mike McCarthy, and some even worse execution by players on the field, turned a close game into a rout for Washington. The third game of the day, scheduled to pit the Steelers against the Ravens, was moved to Sunday afternoon due to COVID-19 cases in the Baltimore program.
As we move toward Sunday, let’s look at your best NFL betting choices.
NFL News: Top Betting Games for this Weekend
Sunday, November 29
Tennessee Titans (+3) at Indianapolis Colts (1:00 pm ET, CBS)
A win for Indianapolis would give them control of the AFC South, as they beat Tennessee in their first meeting two weeks ago, 34-17. Things get easy in the division for the Colts after this, as they have two games against Huoston and one more against Jacksonville. Both teams come in with momentum as the Colts d
In their last win, Indianapolis overcame the Green Bay Packers in overtime. Philip Rivers had three touchdown passes and an interception. His completion percentage is right at 68.5% on the season, and while he has thrown 8 picks on the year, as we have moved into the second half of the season, those picks are not coming at backgreaking times for his team. The Colts’ defense is stout, limiting opponents to just 20.8 points per game. The Colts also have a decent running game, one that Tennessee could not stop in their first meeting.
I’ve watched Philip Rivers play for too long not to remember that he will throw a deadly interception at just the wrong time for his team. I expect that to continue at some point this season, and the Titans have the defense to pressure him into that sort of mistake. Give me Tennessee to cover.
San Francisco 49ers (+6.5) at Los Angeles Rams (4:05 pm ET, FOX)
Injuries have taken their toll on the San Francisco 49ers, as they went into their bye with three losses in a row, falling to Seattle, Green Bay and New Orleans. Given that the team is missing the likes of starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, tight end George Kittle, tailback Raheem Mostert, pass rusher Nick Bosa, and several other key skill players, the losing streak is not a surprise given the toughness of the competition. The 49ers did win their first meeting with the Rams on October 18, so the Rams look to get revenge when the series moves south. Los Angeles has gone 3-1 since that loss, beating the Bears, Seahawks and Buccaneers — but also losing in a bizarre game at Miami.
Nick Mullens has occasionally played very well at quarterback for the 49ers. However, he has thrown six picks against six touchdown passes, and he has not had a lot of help from his offensive line, which has also suffered in terms of injuries. When the 49ers do well, they can balance the running game and the pass. They may have Raheem Mostert (ankle), Jeff Wilson (ankle) and Tevin Coleman (knee) back for Week 12, giving the team an infusion of talent at a position that could make Mullens’ night much easier. The defense is still a work in progress, but if the 49ers can get pressure on Jared Goff, San Francisco will have a much easier time.
Jared Goff threw three touchdown passes against the Buccaneers on Monday night, but he threw two picks as well. When Tampa Bay mounted a rush, Goff made poor decisions, and the opportunity is there for the 49ers to force similar outcomes. The Rams’ defense was also golden against the Buccaneers, as safety Jordan Fuller picked off two passes. Given the improvement of the Rams’ defense, I see that unit controlling the game’s rhythm. Rams to win and cover.
