We understand if you don’t plan to watch the winless Cleveland Browns when they visit the Baltimore Ravens in a Week 10 NFL encounter this Thursday Night. But you don’t have to throw away an easy money-making opportunity in Thursday’s NFL lines just because the game is likely to be boring, do you? We thought so too, and that’s why we have a brief NFL betting preview of this game prepared for you below.

Cleveland at Baltimore Week 10 Betting Pick & Odds

Why Bet on Cleveland?

It’s hard to find words to describe the kind of season Cleveland is having this year, but historically bad sounds about like the right fit for the disjointed Browns who are looking to avoid a 0-10 start to the season this Thursday. Rookie QB Cody Kessler, just like the other names to have started under the center for Cleveland this season—or the last many seasons, for that matter—wasn’t able to do much last week with his limited offense while Cleveland’s can’t-stop-nothing defense allowed Dallas’ rookie QB-RB combo of Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliot to combine for five touchdowns as the Cowboys outgained Cleveland 423-222 in yardage. With too many defensive holes to be solved in a week and a plethora of injuries to deal with in the offense, it would be a big miracle if the Browns made a full turnaround to stop the Ravens on Thursday. That said, the Browns have outspokenly reiterated their hell-bent ambitions of getting their first win of the season and it so happens that the Ravens haven’t been the steadiest of teams lately, so those should be reasons as good as any in the NFL for an upset to happen when they take to the field on Thursday.

Why Bet on Baltimore?

It wasn’t a comfortable win. In fact, it wasn’t the prettiest of games by most standards. But don’t tell that to Baltimore fans, who saw their team engineer a few crucial offensive drives and stymie the high-powered Pittsburgh offense to help the Ravens to a 21-14 win over the Steelers last weekend. That win brought an end to Baltimore’s four-game losing streak and saw Jon Harbaugh’s squad improve to 4-4 on the season. With that big morale-boosting win in the bag and the AFC North looking stuck in a flux state with no clear flag-bearer, you can expect the Ravens to come into this game extremely pumped for a win over the winless Browns. On paper, this should be a no-contest for the Ravens who can be very disciplined defensively and efficient in offense, as was illustrated last week when they limited Pittsburgh’s offense to just 89 yards through three quarters while taking 13-0 lead. Even so, the Ravens must ensure that they guard themselves from being complacent just because they are facing a 0-9 team. The Browns, as things stand, have nothing to lose, and that makes them the most dangerous type of opponent, as they would be willing to do anything and everything to win this game. Baltimore must therefore be fully prepared for anything and plan on how to play up to its potential.

Betting Pick and Predictions

I know that the Browns will get that lucky break at some point this season, and it might even happen this Thursday against all odds. Heck, somewhere deep in the emotional side of me, I am hoping Cleveland does get the win this week. But rationally speaking, I just don’t see the Ravens giving them that satisfaction, especially with the AFC North looking ripe for the taking. Harbaugh is well-aware of how close games have resulted in too many unnecessary losses for his team this season and he will want his team to put the hapless Browns on toast by as early as halftime. So to hell with my emotional side; give me Baltimore and the free money in the spread. Final Score Prediction: Baltimore 27, Cleveland 14 Writer’s NFL Pick: Baltimore (-10)
