College Football Week 11 Sharp Betting Pick

Written by on November 10, 2016

The college football regular season is winding down and the sharps are looking to close out on a high with the following Week 11 NCAA Football betting picks. Do you agree with them and want to join in, or are you on the other side of the fence?

College Football Week 11 Sharp Betting Pick

North Carolina at Duke, Thursday, November 10, 7:30 PM ET

Pick: North Carolina (-11) Quarterback Mitch Trubisky has been real-efficiency personified in North Carolina’s offense this season, passing for over 2,700 yards with 19 touchdowns against just two interceptions, mostly having to carry the team singlehandedly. And then, something else happened last week, as UNC’s ground game got into the act, accounting for 283 of the team’s 600-plus yards of offense in the 48-20 victory over the Yellow Jackets. Now that’s just plain scary stuff to talk about considering the Tar Heels (7-2) will be going against the out-of- sorts Blue Devils (3-6) who are winless in conference play. As if that isn’t bad enough, Duke’s freshman QB Daniel has not been the steadiest of passers with 11 touchdowns against nine picks this season, and he’ll be facing a stout UNC secondary that is allowing just 192.9 yards a game (good enough for #21 in the nation). So even though Daniel brings an extra dimension to his game with his scrambling ability (375 yards rushing and five scores on the ground), it would be a big risk to trust him and his offense, especially with starting running back Jela Duncan (450 yards and a team-high six touchdowns) out of this game with a season-ending injury. The sharps don’t expect UNC to get a lopsided win like the 66-31 home thrashing the Tar Heels gave to the Blue Devils last season, but the win is still expected to be big enough to pay North Carolina bettors on both the SU and ATS college football lines.

South Carolina at Florida, Saturday, November 12, 12:00 PM ET

Pick: Florida (-11) Don’t be fooled by the fact that the Gators gave up 466 yards and 31 total points in the 21-point loss at Arkansas to mean that the Gators have lost it defensively. Entering last week, Florida allowed the fewest yards and least points in the SEC, and that menacing defense—which is still ranked splendidly at fifth in the nation in points allowed per game—should be able to find its groove back when the Gators return to their familiar home confines. This should especially not be a problem against South Carolina’s poor offense that is scoring 17.75 PPG. And with a very small margin of error for the Gators in the SEC East title race, the sharps expect backup quarterback Austin Appleby, who’ll be replacing injured starter Luke Del Rio, to lead the Gators to a clear win and cover over the Gamecocks.

Ole Miss at Texas A&M, Saturday, November 12, 7:30 PM ET

Pick: Ole Miss (+10) Ole Miss’ starting QB Chad Kelly is out with a season-ending injury, but so is A&M’s Trevor Knight, so it doesn’t make sense that the books are hanging as many as 10 points on the Aggies. Undeniably, the Rebels have not played their best of football this season even with Kelly as a starter, but they should be competitive enough to hang tough against the Aggies, who were in shambles when Knight was injured last week and eventually lost to the lowly Mississippi State Bulldogs. And lest you forget, the Rebels have covered all the four games they’ve played against A&M since they joined the SEC, including double-digit wins of 23-3 and 35-20 over the past two seasons. With such a strong résumé, many sharps feel that Ole Miss will be the value play on the number’s side here.

Michigan at Iowa, Saturday, November 12, 8:00 PM ET

Pick: Michigan (-21.5) The Hawkeyes have repeatedly proven this season that they are no pushovers and we don’t expect them to take it lying down against the Michigan Wolverines this week. But this is a ruthless Wolverine team that is mercilessly tearing down opponents this season, including last week’s 59-3 blowout victory over Maryland—their third win of the season by 50 or more points. QB Wilton Speight has been sensational in spearheading the offense, but it is the defense that has carried the team more than anything else. On the season, the Wolverines are ranked #3 in FBS scoring defense (allowing just 11.6 PPG) and have used this unit to extreme efficacy, holding 5 of the last 6 opponents to 10 points or less (10, 7, 0, 8, 23, 3). Facing Iowa on the road in their first true road test will definitely not be easy. Still, this is the same Hawkeyes team that lost 17-9 at home to Wisconsin and then got shellacked 41-14 on the road by PSU last week, so Michigan—which is a heads and shoulders above the Badgers and the Nittany Lions—should be able to do even better, as per the sharps.
