2019 NASCAR All-Star Race Odds, Preview & Predictions

The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series heads to Charlotte Motor Speedway for the next two weekends; this weekend, the 2019 NASCAR All-Star Race and the Gander Outdoors Truck Series will be featured. The defending champion of the All-Star Race is Kevin Harvick, and he’ll be looking to pick up another $1 million check this year. There are four stages to this format: 30 laps, 20 laps, 20 laps and 15 laps, with NASCAR overtime rules in effect for each stage if needed. Nineteen drivers will take part: fifteen on the basis of points thus far this season, three qualifying through the Monster Energy Open and one added thanks to fan vote. The coverage will start at 5:00pm Eastern time on Saturday on FS1, with radio coverage on the Motor Racing Network. We have the NASCAR odds as well as wagering suggestions for you to consider.

Denny Hamlin

Hamlin has a solid history at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Despite the fact that the format goes just 85 laps, track history is track history. He won this event four years ago and has 13 top-10 finishes on this track — including five in a row coming into Saturday. He’s definitely someone to consider given the value on his moneyline and his performance in Charlotte.

Jimmie Johnson

Johnson offers some value, although it is important to note that he has not won any races this year and has a drought extending back into last season as well. At Charlotte Motor Speedway, though, he has won eight races in 34 starts overall, and he is the only driver ever to win this event in consecutive years. He surprised some observers with his sixth-place finish last week, so he could be heating up.

Erik Jones

Jones is also looking for his first win of the 2019 campaign, but he has been heating up as of late. He came in sixth in Dover and then rose up to third place in Kansas last week. This is his All-Star race debut, but as he showed with his block of Clint Bowyer last weekend, he’s not afraid to be aggressive. That sort of momentum could pay off in a smaller field this weekend.

Chase Elliott

Elliot came in fifth in the All-Star race back in 2018, and given how new he is in the sport, that’s a terrific result against the best drivers in the world. He’s someone to consider on your wager cards.

Brad Keselowski

Keselowski looked terrific in his win at Kansas. You might be tempted to pick him to win for a second week in a row. However, the same driver who got hot down the stretch in 2018 has been hit-and-miss so far this season. His win last week was just his second top-10 finish in his last four races, and he has just one All-Star Race win in 18 career appearances.

Kyle Busch

Busch sits atop the odds list, like usual, but he had a dreadful race in Kansas, coming in 30th for his first finish outside the top 10 in 2019. Can he bounce back from that result, or will his frustration continue? I’m not sure he’s worth the risk given the small value you get from betting on a favorite.
