You can catch the broadcast starting on May 26 at 8:00 pm Eastern time on FS1. Those who are fans of the Gander Outdoors & RV Truck Series will notice that the field has been expanded to 40 trucks. NASCAR Cup Series contenders Chase Elliott, Ross Chastain, John Hunter Nemechek and Kyle Busch, Timmy Hill and Garrett Smithley will compete in this race as well as in the NASCAR Cup Series event on Wednesday. All of the NASCAR Cup Series drivers in this race have been offered a bounty to finish ahead of Busch by Kevin Harvick. Why the bounty? In 2019, Kyle Busch won all five of the Gander Outdoors & RV Truck Series races he entered — including this one. At Charlotte Motor Speedway, has 11 career starts in the truck series, with six wins and three runner-up finishes.
Austin Hill leads the Gander Outdoor & RV Truck Series Standings, with 82 points, although it is worth noting that this is just the third race in the series for the year. Johnny Sauter, who won this race in 2018 and won the entire series in 2016, has 73 points, and then Ben Rhodes leads a crowded field at third place with 60 points, so Hill and Sauter have done well. Sauter has finished in the top three here in three of the last four years. Grant Enfinger has just 56 points but already has a victory on the young season, so there is still plenty of movement possible in the standings. Another interesting pick could be Matt Crafton, who has won this race twice in the past, with his first career win coming here in 2008.
The competitors will make 134 laps around the 1.5-mile oval at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Obviously, given the long pause between races, it is possible that someone way down the standings will make a huge run, but the drivers in the NASCAR Cup Series largely seemed to get right back into the swing of things at The Real Heroes 400 at Darlington, their first return to action, so planning on a lot of rust does not make a lot of sense. Busch is obviously a smart pick, but then adding Sauter or Crafton could build in some value just in case that bounty ends up paying off.
