Don’t miss Motorsports Betting with MotoGP and IndyCar coming back this Weekend!

Motorsports Betting this Weekend: The motor sports world is hopping this weekend as NASCAR, Formula 1, NTT IndyCar and MotoGP all have races going.

NASCAR heads to Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee, and all three circuits will run. Formula 1 is still on the far side of the globe as the Bahrain Grand Prix is set for Sunday.

Also in the Middle East is this week’s MotoGP race, with the Qatar Grand Prix on tap. Sunny California is the backdrop for IndyCar racing as the Los Angeles area will host the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach.

Read on to find out about all of these races as well as our sports betting thoughts on each one.

NASCAR Weekend: Bristol Motor Speedway

Craftsman Truck Series: Weather Guard Truck Race (Friday, 7:30 pm)
Xfinity Series: SciAps 300 (Saturday, 5:00 pm ET)
Cup Series: Food City 500 (Sunday, 3:00 pm ET)

Last Weekend in NASCAR Cup Series

Denny Hamlin demonstrated his strategic prowess in overtime, securing the victory at the Goodyear 400 at Darlington Raceway.

After emerging from the pits in the lead during the final caution, he sprinted ahead after the restart to triumph over the day’s standout driver, William Byron, by 0.597 seconds.

This marks Hamlin’s second consecutive win, having also triumphed at Martinsville. Despite Byron’s dominance, leading 243 laps and winning both Stage 1 and 2, he fell short. Christopher Bell, Tyler Reddick, and Ryan Blaney completed the top five.

With the series headed to Bristol, where Hamlin has had success in the past, he remains an interesting pick despite the low odds of a three-peat. Bristol’s track is a short oval, running 0.533 miles. The turns feature between 24 and 28 degrees of banking, while the straights drop to 4 to 8 degrees.

Xfinity Series Last Weekend

Brandon Jones triumphed in the Sport Clips Haircuts VFW Help a Hero 200 at Darlington, marking his second career win. Harrison Burton claimed Stage 1, Justin Allgaier Stage 2, while Jones secured overall victory.

Last Weekend in Truck Series

Daniel Hemric won the March 28 race at Martinsville, defeating Corey Heim, who led 149 laps before a tire issue after a restart. Hemric passed teammate Ty Ankrum and secured victory by 0.544 seconds, with Jake Garcia, Chandler Smith, and Ben Rhodes completing the top five finishers.

Formula 1: Bahrain Grand Prix

Bahrain International Circuit (Sunday, 11:00 am ET)

Bahrain’s circuit poses challenges, with flat terrain influencing wind and evening temperature changes. Mercedes and Ferrari each have six wins; Schumacher and Massa excelled for Ferrari, while Rosberg and Hamilton dominated for Mercedes, and Red Bull seeks parity with five wins.

The race consists of 57 laps on a 5.4-kilometer course, featuring passing opportunities. Red Bull achieved a 1-2 finish last year, with Verstappen winning and Perez defeating Sainz, also securing pole and the fastest lap.

NTT IndyCar: Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach

Streets of Long Beach (California) (Sunday, 4:30 pm ET)

The race will consist of 90 laps on a temporary 1.968-mile street circuit with 11 turns and three long straights. It will last just over 100 minutes, with grid position being crucial due to limited overtaking opportunities.

Àlex Palou

He secured his second victory in consecutive races at the Thermal Club INDYCAR Grand Prix on March 25. Historically, eight drivers have achieved this feat since 1979, with seven eventually winning the drivers’ championship; Scott Dixon last did so in 2020.

Palou holds a 39-point lead, with many strong venues still ahead, having won at seven of the remaining fourteen tracks. His victory was aided by a strategic pit stop and alternate tires, allowing him to overtake Pato O’Ward and Christian Lundgaard.

MotoGP: Qatar Airways Grand Prix of Qatar

Francesco Bagnaia won the MotoGP Grand Prix of the Americas in Texas, achieving his second win there, 2.089 seconds ahead of Alex Marquez, who now tops the championship standings after Marc Marquez’s crash.

This week we see the return of defending champion Jorge Martin, who missed the first three races due to a pre-season training crash. He’s joining the Aprilia factory team, which frankly has produced a sub-par ride.

How can I bet on these events?

All upcoming events, especially top circuit events, will create various sports betting opportunities. NASCAR’s Xfinity and Craftsman Truck Series will be available on sportsbooks, with Cup Series drivers occasionally participating in lower series races.

Motorsports Betting: MotoGP

This one features two lower circuits, Moto2 and Moto3, where betting opportunities are scarce due to the inconsistency of drivers and riders. While research may reveal patterns, these participants would be in the top circuit if more consistent.

In all the top-flight events, you should be able to find odds on the overall winner, as well as to finish in the top three or top five. You may be able to find head-to-head props – these offer a pair of drivers, and you pick the one who will finish ahead of the other, regardless of who ends up winning.

Auto and motorcycle racing involve unpredictable factors, like crashes and weather, influencing outcomes significantly. Tire-pavement interaction varies with temperature, and one major wreck can end a top contender’s chances.

Stay emotionally detached, avoid chasing losses with unresearched bets, and limit wagers to 1-3% of a dedicated bankroll for sports betting.
