Hungarian Grand Prix Odds and what you Need to Know: The Hungaroring is set to host the 13th round of the 2024 Formula 1 season.
It looked like this season would be another ho-hum series with Red Bull winning handily, but since Miami, things have gotten interesting.
What started out as the Max Verstappen Show has now had six different winners, and Mercedes seems to have finally figured out its performance issues.
Lewis Hamilton finally picked up a win at the British Grand Prix, and he leads all active drivers with pole positions and victories at the Hungaroring.
Ferrari had been the main challengers to Red Bull at the start of 2024, but the rise of Lando Norris has brought McLaren out of the midfield and onto podiums, leaving Ferrari with only one podium since Charles Leclerc got to win in Monaco back in May.
Let’s take a look at the sports betting odds for each driver on the grid to win, as well as some insights on the race.

Hungarian GP Highlights
Ever since the Hungaroring became the first Formula 1 venue in the Soviet bloc back in 1986, it has remained a regular fixture on the yearly racing calendar.
The track runs 2.7 miles but doesn’t have much in the way of straights. Its tight layout makes passing difficult, even with a renovation in 2003 that made passing easier going into Turn 1.
Five different drivers have gotten their maiden win here, including Fernando Alonso back in 2004.
The race runs 70 laps; Hamilton set the lap record in 2020 (1:16.627). Five active drivers have won here (Hamilton with eight wins, Verstappen with two, and Alonso, Ricciardo and Ocon all with one apiece.
^Lewis Hamilton
Hamilton has claimed nine pole positions. George Russell and Verstappen have both taken pole position once, while Alonso took it seven years in a row, 2003-2009, although he only won the race in 2003.
In 2023, Hamilton took the pole position, but he only held that lead until the first corner, as Verstappen had the better start and took the lead.
He ended up winning easily. Norris finished in second, more than 30 seconds behind. Perez took third, while Hamilton settled for fourth.
The Hungaroring is all about cornering with slow or medium speed, which should help Ferrari a bit.
^Favorites
Verstappen’s domination a year ago makes Red Bull the favorite, though. Mercedes has two poles, four podiums and two wins in the last four events, though, and more upgrades are expected to come this weekend.
The growing rivalry between Hamilton and George Russell should make both drivers more motivated, but it also means that neither will rely on the other to hold challengers off.
As McLaren, Norris personally chose to pit for soft tires near the end of the British Grand Prix, which left him vulnerable to Verstappen’s charge and left him settling for third place instead of challenging Hamilton late.
McLaren is just seven points behind Ferrari for second place in the constructors’ championship.
