Grant Enfinger has a pair of wins in the Gander RV & Outdoor Truck Series this year, tops in the series. He only ranks in seventh place in points, though, because when things don’t go well, he either doesn’t finish (which happened once) or finishes way down the standings. He has another top ten finish this year to go with those two wins, though. Given the value he offers, and given the fact that Kyle Busch isn’t dropping down to race with the lower series this weekend, I’m taking advantage of that value.
Another value driver who also has done well is Ben Rhodes. He is in second place in the point standings with six top ten finishes and three top fives. He still has yet to win, but that consistency is something to consider.
Austin Hill is the points leader in the Gander RV & Outdoor Truck Series, despite the fact that he has yet to win a race in eight starts in 2020. Why is he the leader? Because he has finished in the top ten in seven of the eight races this season, and in the top five on four different occasions. Eventually, someone sniffing that close to the finish line will end up in first, especially with the NASCAR Cup Series drivers staying away.
How about Sheldon Creed? He has a win this season, one of just three wins in the eight series races in 2020 by a non-Cup Series driver. He has five top-ten finishes overall and is in third place in the point standings. Once again, without the elite drivers in the field, one of these contenders in the series has to poke through and get a win, and it might as well be Creed.Christian Eckes is the favorite this week. He currently sits in fourth in the Gander RV & Outdoor Truck Series standings, with two top five finishes and four in the top ten — but zero wins. If you’re looking at a bunch of drivers who have all done fairly well and are bunched at the top of the leaderboard, it’s hard to argue for taking the driver who offers the least value.
Todd Gilliland is an interesting case. He offers a lot of value for someone who has cracked the top ten in five of the eight races so far this season. He also has two top five finishes on the year. With most other conditions being equal, putting that big value on your wager card could end up paying off in a big way.
