NASCAR Betting Preview & Pick: O’Reilly Auto Parts 500

The 2018 edition of the O’Reilly Auto Parts 500 hits NASCAR on Sunday, April 8, at 2:00 pm Eastern time, from the Texas Motor Speedway, just to the northwest of Dallas. You can watch the whole race on FS1. This will be the 22nd running of the race — and Ford-built cars have won 10 of the first 21. Texas Motor Speedway is one of the faster courses in NASCAR, with an average speed of 147.1 miles per hour for the two NASCAR events that took place there in 2017. Let’s take a look, according to the latest auto racing odds, at your best NASCAR betting picks to draw the checkered flag.

NASCAR Betting Preview & Pick: O’Reilly Auto Parts 500

Kyle Busch

Kyle Busch has finished no worse than third in all of his last four starts — but he hasn’t won any of them. That shows the NASCAR Betting enthusiasts that he has terrific form and that a victory is due at any moment. Busch has won the O’Reilly Auto Parts 500 twice in the last five years, and in seven of his last 10 races at Texas Motor Speedway, he has finished no worse than fifth. Also, by this point on the calendar, he has won at least one race in four of the last six years. So the timing seems right for Busch on a number of fronts.

Joey Logano

Joey Logano has come in with the top seven in five of the first six races in 2018, and he won the O’Reilly Auto Parts 500 back in 2014. He has also come in no worse than fifth in his last five appearances in this race, and no worse than seventh in seven of his last nine starts at Texas Motor Speedway. So while Logano doesn’t quite have the urgent timing for a win that Busch has, he is definitely one to consider on your card. Another factor for Logano is that SportsLine ran a simulation of the event 10,000 times, and Logano won the most times.

Ryan Blaney

Ryan Blaney has finished no worse than eighth in four of his six starts in 2018, and he has cracked the top 10 in seven of his last eleven starts. The odds on him will be a little longer because he hasn’t put up quite the same stats at Texas Motor Speedway as some of the other racers on this list, but his form has been solid lately, so he’s a good pick for your card. He has raced six times at Texas Motor Speedway and has finished twelfth or better in three of those starts.

Martin Truex Jr

Martin Truex Jr has put up the most consistent track record since the end of 2017. At Texas Motor Speedway, he has finished no worse than ninth in all of his last six races, and he has finished in the top 10 in five of his last six appearances at the O’Reilly Auto Parts 500. His consistency in 2018 has been impressive as well, so as you fill out your card for this race, keep him in mind.

Jimmie Johnson

Jimmie Johnson is the definite NASCAR Betting dark horse on this list. In 2018, he has not done much to gather the attention of the sports betting community. However, he has won the O’Reilly Auto Parts 500 twice in the last three years, and in nine of his last 10 starts in this race, he has finished no worse than eighth. Jimmie Johnson is among the NASCAR Betting favorites to win the 2018 O'Reilly Auto Parts 500. In his last eleven starts at this course, he has won six of them. So this could be the track that jolts him out of his rut and gets him back to his winning ways. The odds on him winning should be fairly long, so take advantage of that value.

Brad Keselowski

Brad Keselowski appears on many of the boards as a top-five pick, but the SportsLine model has him finishing outside the top five. He’s never won at the Texas Motor Speedway and has led in just 13 laps in four races at the track. So you might pick a different driver, as his stats don’t back up that optimism on this course.
