NASCAR heads to the Lone Star State this weekend as Texas Motor Speedway will host this weekend’s races. The Cup Series event is the AutoTrader EchoPark Automotive 400, set for Sunday at 3:00 pm Eastern time. You can catch the telecast on FS1 or listen on PRN or SiriusXM. Last week, William Byron raced to victory at the Cook Out 400 at Martinsville Speedway. Hendrick Motorsports actually took a 1-2-3 finish for the first time, and Byron picked up the team’s 29th win at Martinsville, the most for any team at one NASCAR venue. Byron picked up his third win of 2024, his second at Martinsville, and his 13th as a Cup Series driver. Denny Hamlin had the lead but went in for an early green-flag pit stop. The Hendrick drivers all passed Hamlin, and when John H. Nemechek wrecked on Turn 4 of Lap 398 of 400, the race went to overtime. Bet on the NASCAR Lines for EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix
Chase Elliott
Elliott struggled in 2023 – but not on the road courses. In his career, Elliott has 20 top-ten finished, 17 top-five finishes, and seven wins on this type of venue.
Tyler Reddick
Reddick may be ready to take Elliott’s mantle. He has three road-course victories in the last three seasons – and he won at the Circuit of the Americas in 2023.
Kyle Larson
Larson didn’t have much success on road courses until he came to Hendrick Motorsports; their Chevrolets have done extremely well on them. Since Larson joined his current team, he has won four road-course races.
Ross Chastain
Chastain has an average finish of third at Circuit of the Americas, tops in the Cup Series, and he is one of the elite road-course drivers in this sport.
Chris Buescher
Buescher is a terrific road racer driving a middle-of-the-road car. When he had good equipment a year ago, he had the best average finish on road courses in the Cup Series.
Michael McDowell
McDowell won the Indianapolis Grand Prix in 2023, after his team (Front Row Motorsports) became one of Ford’s top-tier teams. Now that McDowell has solid equipment, his numbers should keep soaring.
Kyle Busch
Busch had four top-five finishes in the six 2023 road races. In 2022, he struggled as his Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota didn’t do well in the NextGen format. Don’t sleep on him this time around.
Alex Bowman
Bowman is elite when it comes to sequencing and strategy, often making up for average equipment. His fourth-place average finish at Circuit of the Americas is second only to Ross Chastain.
Austin Cindric
Cindric has struggled in the transition from Xfinity Series champ to Cup Series driver. On the road courses, though, he is an expert. He hasn’t won on a road course in the Cup Series, but he’s gotten close.
Ty Gibbs
Gibbs sits in fifth place in the Cup Series standings; in 2023, his rookie campaign, he had the fourth-best road course average finish.
Shane Van Gisbergen
Van Gisbergen won in his Cup Series debut, on the Chicago road course, and he has raced at Circuit of the Americas in the past. He’s running in two races this weekend, so he’ll have the course in his mind while he runs in the Cup Series.
Logano
Joey Logano has suffered from tough luck so far this year, but in the six road course races in 2023, he cracked the top ten four times.

2023 NASCAR Cup Series AutoTrader EchoPark Automotive 400 Odds
Denny Hamlin won the last Cup Series Round of 16 race, the Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol Motor speedway. He took the lead coming out of pit road on Lap 366 of 500, and he ran away from Kyle Larson, beating him by 2.462 seconds. He led the last 135 laps and led 142 overall. The only driver who led more laps was Christopher Bell, who won the pole position and ended up finishing third. Other notable results in terms of Round of 12 qualification included Kevin Harvick, who got eliminated along with defending champion Joey Logano. Ricky Stenhouse Jr and Michael McDowell are also out. Bubba Wallace was on the edge of falling out of contention, but he moved on to the Round of 12 by four points. This week the Cup Series moves to Texas Motor Speedway to open the Round of 12 in the AutoTrader EchoPark Automotive 400. The race is set for Sunday at 3:30 pm Eastern time, with the telecast on USA Network and the radio call on PRN and SiriusXM. We have the Cup Series Odds for each driver to win the race, along with NASCAR wager card suggestions for you.

Martin Truex Jr won the regular-season points title but barely made it into the Round of 12. Hopefully the yips and the misfortunes are behind him now and he can go back to his consistent pattern of speed.
Denny Hamlin won last week and is a co-favorite this week for good reason.
Tyler Reddick won at Texas Motor Speedway in 2022. He’s done well at other intermediate track races as well; he won at Kansas and came in second at Darlington in the most recent 2023 events on those tracks.
Christopher Bell has a fast car; all five Toyota drivers are in the round of 12. He has won three straight pole positions. This makes him a strong fantasy candidate as he will stack up laps led, but it’s also a lot easier to win outright when you start at the front.
William Byron has struggled a bit in the last two races, but before that he had four straight top-five finishes. He’s an interesting pick to sneak in and snatch the playoff title at this point.
Ryan Blaney has the top driver rating over the last eight races at Texas Motor speedway. In the last four months, Blaney won one of the few other 1 ½-mile intermediate track races by taking the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte.
Chris Buescher won in Michigan, on a two-mile intermediate track. Over the last four months, Buescher is in the top five for points, but it remains to be seen if he can win on a track of this length, a more traditional intermediate track.
Kyle Busch is driving the No. 8 RCR Chevy, which Tyler Reddick drove to victory at the 2022 Texas Motor Speedway race, also leading the most laps. Over the last eight races, Busch has posted a top-five rating in the race five times.
Ty Gibbs is one of three JGR drivers who are still in playoff contention. At Bristol, he drew the third-highest rating.
Ross Chastain won in June at Nashville. Since then, he has only made the top five once, at Darlington, and the top ten one other time, at Michigan.
