NASCAR Betting Preview: The Great American Getaway 400 – Odds & Expert Prediction

Ready for the NASCAR Betting? Shane van Gisbergen was not able to reprise his Cup Series win at the Grant Park 165 this year.

He did win The Loop 110, the Xfinity Series event on the same course through the streets of Chicago last week.

Instead, Alex Bowman zipped to victory on Sunday, ending an 80-race victory drought. He passed Joey Hand on Lap 51 just before Josh Berry slammed into the barrier in Turn 2, leading to the fifth and final caution of the race.

Things had to finish by 8:20 p.m. because of the long rain delay after Lap 25. That meant two laps remained, and Bowman staved off Tyler Reddick to win in a 58-lap event.

The decision to stay out on wet, older tires paid off. This week NASCAR is in the mountains of Pennsylvania at Pocono Raceway, and the Cup Series race is The Great American Getaway 400 Presented by VisitPA.com.

The race starts at 2:30 pm Eastern time on Sunday, and you can catch the action on the USA Network or listen on Motor Racing Network or the SiriusXM app.

Bet on the Cup Series The Great American Getaway 400 Odds

Pocono’s Tricky Triangle was one of Denny Hamlin’s best tracks in the early years of his Cup Series career, as he won four times between 2006 and 2010.

However, repaving the surface cost him some of that dominance. As the new surface has gotten older, though, he has found his mojo again, with four wins here between 2019 and 2023.

Kyle Larson

Larson suffers bad luck at Pocono. He was in the lead here in 2021 but blew a tire in the very last lap.

He does have four top-five finishes and 92 laps led over his last six races here, but he is still looking for his first win.

Christopher Bell

Bell has beaten Hamlin several times so far in 2024, but he still hasn’t done it at Pocono.

Will this time be any different? He’s part of Joe Gibbs Racing, a team that has owned the Triangle.

NASCAR Betting Martin Truex Jr

Truex Jr is another JGR Toyota driver who has yet to win at Pocono. He did win here twice when he was driving with Furniture Row.

In 2021 he led 19 laps, and he led 20 last year.

^

Tyler Reddick

Reddick switched to a Toyota before the 2022 race and has finished in the top five in both of his races since then.

^

NASCAR Betting Bubba Wallace

Wallace came in 11th here last year, dead last among the Toyotas (the others all finished in the top six).

He was in the top five as late as Stage 3, but strategy and luck conspired against him.

^

Kyle Busch

Busch may be cooling down at this point in his career, but Pocono is a special track for him.

In five of the last 11 races at the Tricky Triangle, he has won or finished second five times. In eight of the last 12 races here, he has led at least 30 laps.

^

William Byron

Byron has been associated with a slump, and someone always hits doldrums when the temperatures rise.

There are a lot of changes in the schedule, making it hard to find consistency. In the Gen-7 car, Byron has yet to crack a top ten, so I wouldn’t bet heavy on him this week.
