Time to win this weekend with our Xfinity Series Odds! Iowa Speedway is the setting for this week’s NASCAR Xfinity race – the HyVee Perks 250. The race will start at 3:30 pm Eastern time on Saturday, and you can watch the telecast on the USA, or you can listen on the Motor Racing Network or the SiriusXM app. Last week, Shane van Gisbergen took first in the Zip Buy Now, Pay Later 250 at Sonoma Raceway. That gave van Gisbergen two Xfinity Series wins in the last two weeks. After a restart with 11 laps left, he moved into the lead and ended up winning by 1.323 seconds.
He started the race on the pole and led a race-high 32 laps. He made contact with Austin Hill in the late action, the second time the duo have traded paint late in races. The first time that happened, as they came together at Circuit of the Americas, Kyle Larson took advantage of the chaos and zipped by them to take the win.
Hill led 21 laps but ended up finishing fifth. Sheldon Creed finished second, his ninth career runner-up and his second of 2024. Sam Mayer, Austin Green and Hill completed the top five. Don’t miss our Xfinity Series Odds and betting preview of Saturday NASCAR’s action.

The 0.875-mile oval at the Iowa Speedway is finally back on the NASCAR schedule. The last Xfinity Series race here took place five years ago, and even though NASCAR bought the facility in 2013, it did not figure in the Cup Series. This weekend’s events have been sold out for months, so expect plenty of energy for both races.
Shane van Gisbergen
Can van Gisbergen make it three wins in three weeks? The last two races came on road courses, while Iowa Speedway is a short-track oval, a completely different environment. One thing that we do know about the New Zealander is that he is taking full advantage of the “rubbin’ is racin’” culture in NASCAR.
After Austin Hill basically cost van Gisbergen a win at Circuit of the Americas with the contact that sprung Larson free for the win, van Gisbergen returned the favor, sliding him out of the way. According to Cup Series contender Denny Hamlin, that’s not the sort of tactic that would play well in Cup Series races, but he also acknowledged that adapting to contact is part of learning how to succeed in stock car racing.
Sheldon Creed
Creed is now approaching a dubious sort of Xfinity Series history. He has finished second in nine Xfinity Series races. The only drivers in the series with more runner-up finishes without a victory are Daniel Hemric and Dale Jarrett, with 10 apiece. He almost won at Watkins Glen last summer, holding the lead in overtime after Sam Mayer and Ty Gibbs made contact.
Creed then got stuck in some oil on the racing surface, giving Mayer the opportunity to come back and take the win. Last fall, he came in second in three straight races, and with his runner-up result last week, he has to be coming due. Right?
Shane van Gisbergen did a burnout for almost the ENTIRE VICTORY LAP at Portland.
