NASCAR Xfinity Series Ambetter Health 200 Odds and Betting Preview of the Race

With record heat blanketing much of the American South and Southwest, the drivers of NASCAR are likely relieved to find themselves at New Hampshire Motor Speedway; the Xfinity Series event on tap is the Ambetter Health 200, set for Saturday at 3:00 pm Eastern time. You can watch the race on the USA Network or listen on PRN or SiriusXM. Last week, John Hunter Nemecheck won the Alsco Uniforms 250, seizing the lead on a restart in overtime and taking his third series win of 2023. This was his only lead of the entire race, as Daniel Hemric gave him a push that sent him to the front at the last restart. He beat Hemric by 0.245 seconds, and Cole Custer came in third. Let’s look at some of the top NASCAR driver odds for this week’s race as well as some thoughts about a few of the drivers.

John Hunter Nemechek

had to overcome a great deal of adversity to get the win. His car gave him handling problems, particularly in the early traffic of the race, and so he was outside the top ten after the ends of Stages 1 and 2. New Hampshire Motor Speedway has been kind to him in the past; here, he has two top-five finishes in the Craftsman Truck Series and a fourth-place finish in the Xfinity Series. Phoenix and Richmond have similar tracks, and he came in sixth and second on those, respectively. His team (Joe Gibbs Racing) has 11 wins in the last 14 Ambetter Health 200 races.

Justin Allgaier

was one of the few drivers to win here in recent years despite not being on Joe Gibbs Racing, when he took the Crayon 200 last year. New Hampshire is a track that differs from some of the others in NASCAR in that it has featured repeat winners. Allgaier has finished in the top three here in 2019 and 2021 as well as last year’s win.

Josh Berry

has not finished well at New Hampshire Motor Speedway historically, but he did snag the pole position in qualifying last year. He finished eighth and third, respectively, at Phoenix and Richmond. This is a difficult field, but given the speed Berry showed last year, he could roll to a win. I’m not sure he comes with enough value, though.

Cole Custer

is only 45 points back of Nemechek in the Xfinity Series standings thanks to his consistency. His third-place finish last week continued his long streak of top-ten results. At New Hampshire, he finished in the top ten in 2017 and 2018 and came in second in 2019. He took pole position at Phoenix earlier this season, and he took fifth at Richmond.

Sammy Smith

took the win at Phoenix, and he also led the most laps. Looking at the whole season, though, things have been less consistent. He has cracked the top ten four times in hiast six races, but the other two events saw him take 30th in Portland and 34th in Nashville.

Sheldon Creed

took third at Phoenix and sixth at Richmond. He led 24 laps in Atlanta last week and won the second stage but had to retire on Lap 88. He entered his first official race at New Hampshire last year and took fifth.

Austin Hill

ran a solid race here last year, going from 15th at the start to seventh place at the end. He finished seventh in Phoenix and ninth in Richmond in 2023. His finish at Atlanta (12th) was a bit disappointing, so he will look to rebound this time around.
