eSports Betting: League of Legends CBLOL Matches: April 26

Written by on April 24, 2020

eSports has become the focus of the sports betting world, and the Brazilian professional league for League of Legends is the CBLOL, currently in its sixth year of operation. We are in the last week of regular season play in 2020 Split 1, as eight teams square off over nine weeks in triple round-robin format for four playoff spots — and to avoid automatic relegation, which happens to the eighth-place team. The playoff winner will advance to the Mid-Season Invitational, a global tournament of regional league champions. If you’re thinking about including the Brazilian League of Legends in your online betting, take a look at our thoughts on the four April 26 matchups and their betting odds.

Matches for April 26

Prodigy Esports (1.375) vs Redemption eSports POA (2.97) (12:00 pm ET)

By the time Sunday rolls around, it is likely that Redemption eSports POA will be headed to relegation, because a loss Friday or Saturday (or wins Friday or Saturday by INTZ and KaBuM! e-Sports) would guarantee an eighth-place finish for Redemption — and automatic relegation. Redemption has beaten Prodigy Esports three times in their five matches overall, but Prodigy has won the last two. The value on taking Prodigy will likely dwindle as Redemption’s chances decrease, so I would lock in soon.

Prediction: Prodigy Esports wins

paiN Gaming (1.72) vs FURIA Uppercut (2.01) (1:00 pm ET)

These are two League of Legends teams that need to pile up the wins to guarantee a spot in the postseason. They both have 9-9 records, and their all-time rivalry is pretty even, with paiN Gaming having won three of their five matchups overall. I might wait to see how the Friday and Saturday matches go for these two teams go before I lock in my wagers here, because if one of the two teams is eliminated before Sunday, their motivation may crater. But for now, given the even matchup, I’m going with the value.

Prediction: FURIA Uppercut wins

Vivo Keyd (1.455) vs KaBuM! e-Sports (2.61) (2:00 pm ET)

Vivo Keyd has salted away a spot in the playoffs, while KaBuM! e-Sports could be playing for their lives on Sunday — so don’t lock in on this match until you see what happens Friday and Saturday. KaBuM! e-Sports leads the all-time rivalry, with six wins in nine matches, including a win on April 11. If KaBuM! e-Sports is still alive on Sunday, I would put money on that added value and added motivation. If they have been eliminated, though, Vivo Keyd should roll.

Prediction: Depends on Fri/Sat Outcomes

Flamengo eSports (1.565) vs INTZ (2.32) (3:00 pm ET)

My thoughts on this matchup are similar to the ones I have on Vivo Keyd vs KaBuM! e-Sports. You have a favorite who is headed to the playoffs and an underdog that needs to win to ensure playoff qualification. This series is lopsided, with Flamengo winning 10 of the 12 matches all-time, so the smart money is probably on Flamengo. However, season finales between League of Legends teams with different motivation levels tend to go to the team that needs it more.

Prediction: Depends on  Fri/Sat Outcomes
