Counter Strike: Global Offensive has become one of the world’s most popular team-based video games for professional eSports competitions. DreamHack Masters is a global tournament with regions in Europe, North America, Asia and Oceania. Currently, we are in the middle of group play in the various regions, so take a look at the action to come on May 28 as you plan your online betting for the week. Let’s check the Counter Strike Odds for May 28 matches in Europe and North America.
Counter Strike Global Offensive – DreamHack Masters Matches Odds & Picks for May 28
Europe
There are four groups, each with four teams. Each match is played best-of-three, and the group winners advance to the Upper Bracket, while the second and third-place teams advance to the Lower Bracket. The two brackets combine in a double-elimination playoff format, with US$160,000 at stake.
May 28 matches
Team Vitality (1.87) vs Ninjas in Pyjamas (1.87) (8:00 am ET)
This rivalry is even, with both teams winning three of the prior six matchups, and the oddsmakers have the matchup as dead even as well. Team Vitality won the last matchup as well, on May 14, winning 2-1 in ESL One: Road to Rio – Europe, but Ninjas in Pyjamas had won the previous matchup on April 22 in the same competition.
Team Vitality has not won a match since beating Ninjas in Pyjamas, losing to G2 Esports in ESL One: Road to Rio – Europe and then to NaVi in the group play opener in this contest. This will mark the Ninjas’ opener at DreamHack Masters; their last five contests have come in ESL One: Road to Rio – Europe, where they have won three of their last five overall. In an even rivalry like this one, I’m taking the Ninjas to win this one, since they lost last time out.
Counter Strike Final Prediction: Ninjas in Pyjamas win
Natus Vincere (1.52) vs ENCE (2.385) (11:30 am ET)
These two teams also have an even rivalry; in five meetings, each side has won twice and the fifth went to a draw. That draw actually came in their last meeting at BLAST Pro SEries Moscow 2019, back in September.
NaVi has dropped three of their last five contests across all competitions; they saw a two-match losing streak in ESL One: Road to Rio – CIS come to an end when they beat Team Vitality in the group play opener. ENCE has won four of five, including a 2-0 win over Team Vitality in ESL One: Road to Rio – Europe. Given ENCE’s superior track record recently and their added value, I’m picking them here.
Counter Strike Final Prediction: ENCE wins
North America
Group and playoff format take place in the same way as the European bracket, but there are only two groups.
May 28 matches
100 Thieves (1.46) vs Cloud9 (2.55) (4:10 pm ET)
100 Thieves won the only matchup between these two teams back on May 2, rolling to a 2-0 sweep at ESL One: Road to Rio – North America. 100 Thieves then dropped their next to ESL One: Road to Rio contests before sweeping Gen.G Esports in the Group B opener.
Cloud9 also won their Group B opener and had gone 2-1 since the loss to 100 Thieves, with all three of those matches in ESL One: Road to Rio. I predict that Cloud9 will figure out the problems that had plagued them in their first matchup and will deliver the upset.
Counter Strike Final Prediction: Cloud9 wins
