Counter Strike: Global Offensive has become one of the world’s most popular team-based video games for professional eSports competitions. The Home Sweet Home league offers a new competition each week, moving from group play all the way through a playoff bracket, just to start again the next Tuesday. May 19 will start the Week 5 action, so let’s take a look at the matches for that day, as well as the Week 4 final standings so you get a sense of the league’s balance to help you plan your online betting.

Week 4 Results

Group Format: Each group has four teams. After each team has played a match, the winners meet; the winner of this match advances to the playoffs as bracket winner. The losers meet to determine which team is eliminated, and then the loser of the winners’ match and the winner of the elimination match meet in the decider match for second place in the group. The top two from each group advance to a single-elimination playoff bracket. The winning team from the playoff bracket collects $30,000, and the runner-up collects $10,000. The plus/minus refers to the differential in points won in the opener as well as games won in the next round.

Week 5

Group A (May 19)

Salamander Gaming (1.87) vs AGO (1.87) (4:50 am ET)

The oddsmakers have this as an evenly matched contest. AGO and Salamander Gaming have only met once in the past, with Salamander winning, 2-0, in Home Sweet Home Cup 3 (in the third week of this season). Last week, Salamander made it to the quarterfinals with a decider match win over Ambush but then fell to Sprout in the first round.

AGO comes in after a week’s hiatus from Home Sweet Home action. Last week, they beat GamerLegion and HellRaisers in ESEA MDL Season 34 Europe action, by identical 16-7 scores. Before that, though, they had dropped three straight in BLAST Rising 2020. Salamander Gaming beat AGO convincingly two weeks ago, so I’ll pick them to do it again.

Final Prediction: Salamander Gaming wins

SMASH Esports (2.402) vs Hard Legion Esports (1.530) (6:20 am ET)

SMASH Esports and Hard Legion Esports will meet for the first time on Tuesday. In Home Sweet Home Cup 4, SMASH Esports overcame a loss in the first match to beat KOVA and then SKADE to make it out of group play, but then they fell to the eventual finalists, Team Secret, in the quarterfinal round.

Hard Legion Esports made it to the semifinals of Home Sweet Home Cup 4 before falling to Team Secret. They are also a part of ESL One: Road to Rio, and they took home a 2-1 win over Virtus.pro in that competition on Sunday. Given Hard Legion’s better performance as of late, I’m taking them as the smart pick.

Final Prediction: Hard Legion Esports wins
