eSports has become the focus of the sports betting world, and the North American professional league for League of Legends is the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) , currently in its eighth year of operation. The league is currently nearing the end of the playoffs, and Saturday’s match will feature the semifinals between Evil Geniuses and FlyQuest. The winner of this match will face Cloud 9 in the Grand Final of the Spring 2020 season and qualifies for the 2020 Mid-Season Invitational, which brings in champions from the regional League of Legends leagues.

Grand Final

  • Cloud9 vs. Evil Geniuses-FlyQuest Winner

Evil Geniuses (1.29) vs FlyQuest (3.0) (4:00 pm ET)

Evil Geniuses and FlyQuest finished with identical 10-8 records during the LCS Spring 2020 regular season, but Evil Geniuses stands as the favorite to win here. This likely has to do with the fact that FlyQuest has never beaten Evil Geniuses in three matchups overall. They last met in the first round of this season’s playoffs, 3-1. All three matchups have taken place in the Spring 2020 LCS league. Can Evil Geniuses beat the same team four times in one season?

If we look back over their last five matches, Evil Geniuses has only lost two times — and both of those times to Cloud9, who rolled to a 17-1 record on the season. FlyQuest actually skidded into the postseason, losing to the Golden Guardians and 100 Thieves to close out the regular season. The playoff win over Golden Guardians, in 3-0 fashion, showed that FlyQuest may have figured out some of their issues and is ready for some revenge. Given the higher value and the low odds of beating a team four times, I’m going with FlyQuest here.

Prediction: FlyQuest wins, 3-1.
