2018 Quicken Loans Invitational Betting Preview
So how about those odds on Tiger Woods? He comes in at +1200. Yes, he fell off the table at the U.S. Open, but he was far from the only big name to miss the cut. At least he didn’t run after an errant putt and whack it while it was still moving so that he could take a 10 on the hole (yes, Phil Mickelson, that’s you I’m talking about). Woods last appeared in this tournament in 2015, and he has a top-10 and those two victories we mentioned earlier. He is the only multiple winner of this event besides Justin Rose. At that moneyline, he could represent a solid value. Kevin Streelman has developed some more consistency in his play this year, and he came in 33rd a week ago at the Travelers Championship. He has made 17 cuts in his last 20 tournaments, and he usually has good Sunday performances, even though he has not walked away with the big check yet. This is not the most impressive field this year, which could give a golfer who is on the brink a chance to break through, and he has four top-20 finishes in his last six stars at the Quicken Loans Invitational. He hasn’t won on the Tour in four years, but those +4500 odds give him quality value. Richie Fowler is the best Tour golfer who is in this field, with six top-25 finishes in his last eight tournaments, and he sits twelfth in scoring average for 2018. He has two top-three finishes at the Quicken Loans Invitational in his last three appearances, and he has made five consecutive cuts here. His payout is not particularly high, at +650, but if you look at the rest of the field, he definitely stands apart in terms of consistency, so while you might balance him out with some value picks, he is a smart bet as well. Kyle Stanley has cracked the top 15 in three of his last five tournaments, and he ranks third on the PGA Tour in greens in regulation percentage and driving accuracy percentage. Of his last seven times that he has made the cut, he has finished in the top 25 in six of those tournaments. Not only did he win here last year, but he finished in the top 25 here six years ago, and he has missed just one cut here in five attempts at the Quicken Loan Invitational. Add the +2200 moneyline to the situation, and betting on Stanley to repeat here makes a lot of sense on your card. Billy Horschel might be your dark horse here. June has not been kind to him, as he has made two cuts in his last three tournaments. However, in April and May, he has played quite well, as he cracked the top five at the RBC Heritage and then won the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. He has made the cut here three consecutive times, and he comes in with +4500 odds. That kind of value, paired with his success here, makes him a smart bet.Let’s look inside this week’s field and how they qualified: https://t.co/r3ODBB9Eky pic.twitter.com/ZpVqZgeJfS
