This week in the PGA Tour brings the 2020 Pebble Beach Pro-Am. The tournament will be played on Spyglass Hill Golf Course, Monterey Peninsula Country Club and Pebble Beach Golf Links. Spyglass Hill and Pebble Beach run as par 72 courses, with Pebble Beach running 6,816 yards and Spyglass Hill running 7,035 yards. Monterey Peninsula runs as a par 71, at 6,958 yards.
The greens on all three courses feature poa annua grass. Defending champion Phil Mickelson returns this year, with top names such as Patrick Cantlay and Jason Day also joining the field. Such celebrities as Tony Romo, Aaron Rodgers, Chris O’Donnell and Bill Murray will also take part, as 156 professionals and 156 amateurs will attack the course.
The cut comes after 54 holes, with the last round coming at Pebble Beach. Key statistics to look for here are strokes gained: approach, as the greens are smaller than average here. Proximity from 100 to 125 yards is also important, as there are a lot of iron shots in that distance here. Also look for par 4 efficiency on holes between 350 and 400 yards, as well as strokes gained: around the green. We have the PGA Betting Odds for the contenders (odds at +10000 or better) and suggestions for your wager cards.

Dustin Johnson took the runner-up finish in his last tournament on the other side of the world, and now he returns to take on a course that is well within his driving length. The key for him will be his wedge play. He has gained in proximity between 100 and 125 yards in three of his last four starts at this tournament and is the top golfer in the field in strokes gained: tee to green in his last 24 rounds at this tournament.
Brandt Snedeker does much better on poa annua greens, ranking sixth in this field in strokes gained: putting in his last 50 rounds on this type of grass. He did miss the cut here in 2019, but he has four victories on this course between this pro-am and the Farmers Insurance Open. He also tied for eighth at the 2010 U.S. Open, played at Pebble Beach, and he also tied for ninth at the U.S. Open in 2008 at Torrey Pines. His iron game is strong right now, and Pebble Beach is a shorter course. He doesn’t have the driving distance that some have, but he does not really need it here. That is one reason why he is sixth in this field in strokes gained: total at this tournament since 2015.
Kevin Kisner is 15th in this field in strokes gained: putting on poa annua greens over his last 50 rounds, and his ball striking is also impressive. In his last three tournaments, he is in the top 20 in par efficiency on holes between 350 and 400 yards in this field, and he is 22nd in strokes gained: approach the green. He did miss the cut at The American Express in January, and he offers a good amount of value given his metrics.
