Golf Korn Ferry Tour The Ascendant Odds

While the PGA Tour splits its field between the Scottish Open and the Barbasol Championship, let’s look down at the Korn Ferry Tour for a unique sports betting opportunity. The Korn Ferry Tour is the developmental tour for the PGA and includes pro golfers who are still looking to qualify for the PGA Tour or who have made it there in the past but have not won enough FedExCup points to stay up. The top 25 moneymakers on the Korn Ferry Tour each year get PGA Tour memberships for the next season, so these tournaments include a preview of the next great PGA golfers. This week’s Korn Ferry event is the fifth annual The Ascendant, held at TPC Colorado in Berthoud. We have the Korn Ferry Tour odds for the field along with some observations about the course and some of the contenders.

Bet on the Korn Ferry The Ascendant!

TPC Colorado

follows the design of a Scottish links, dotted with pot bunkers. The Ascendant was first played here in 2019, and Nelson Ledesma won the event with a 15-under-par score, edging Brett Coletta by one stroke. The high altitude and thin air of Colorado played an intriguing role in some of the course layout; the 13th hold, a par-5, ran 773 yards from the pro tees in that event. It’s still the longest hole ever used in a competition sanctioned by the PGA Tour, 83 yards longer than the runner-up. The handicap of that hole was 8 – which meant that there were seven holes on the course that the golfers found even more difficult.

Jeremy Paul

tied for third at The Ascendant in 2022 en route to a season where he cracked the top ten 10 times in 25 tournaments. That result was his career best and came in a run of nine tournaments without a missed cut. He and his twin brother Yannik are looking to make it to the PGA. Jeremy was one of the top ball strikes on the Korn Ferry Tour last year, ranked 12th in greens in regulation and 23rd in total driving. His putting average was 78th, but he still finished 23rd in scoring average.

Frankie Kapan III

had a long and winding road through Q-School, and his reward was a set of guaranteed starts on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2023. He was one of just eight golfers to start Q-School and make it to the Final Stage and one of just four who walked away with guaranteed events. Capan was the Minnesota Golf Association Player of the Yera in 2020 and has appeared in one PGA Tour event – the 2016 Puerto Rico Open, where he missed the cut. In Q-School, he came in third, first and T1 at the pre-qualifying, First and Second Stages, respectively. His First Stage win came by eight shots.
