Golf Betting Odds and Analysis for 2023 PGA AT&T Byron Nelson

Golf Betting Odds and Analysis for 2023 PGA AT&T Byron Nelson

After last week’s Wells Fargo Championship, which was a PGA Tour Designated Event, the field this week will be much less daunting as TPC Craig Ranch, in McKinney, Texas, is set to host the AT&T Byron Nelson starting on May 11. K.H. Lee won this tournament in both 2021 and 2022, and in last year’s win he set a course record for the tournament. His toughest competition will be Scottie Scheffler, the second-ranked player in the world, along with Hideki Matsuyama and Jordan Spieth.

Lee is a combined 51 under par in those two wins, as TPC Craig Ranch is a course that is easy to birdie. Rain is in the forecast for each day of the tournament, and the course has received two inches of rain over the last two weeks. A soft course means aggressive play to try and land on the soft bentgrass greens. Tournament officials have changed the 12th hole from par-5 to par-4, still running 493 yards. The wide fairways at the course, though, mean that this will be a driverfest. Check out the Golf betting odds for the contenders (+10000 or better) along with some wager card suggestions.

Tyrell Hatton

has cracked the top five at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, THE PLAYERS Championship, and at last week’s Wells Fargo Championship. In this somewhat diluted field, he ranks third in Strokes Gained: Total and second in Strokes Gained: Tee to Green, which could come in handy if the weather gets messy this weekend. Hatton might find putting tougher in wet conditions, but his tee shot and approach game both gain him strokes. He tends to push through when the conditions are less than ideal, making him a smart pick.

K.H. Lee

comes to TPC Craig Ranch looking for a threepeat. He finished T8 last week against a tough field at the Wells Fargo Championship, and in this field, he is 12th in Strokes Gained: Total over the last six months. Tough weather could slow him down, but we could say that about any of the competitors. Lee isn’t really a specialist when it comes to gaining strokes, but his overall game is solid enough for him to compete here – and to win the whole thing for the third straight time.

Seamus Power

is a bit of a darker horse here. He finished 2022 and started 2023 well, but more recently his game has been less consistent. He finished T17 and T9 at the AT&T Byron Nelson the last two years, and he recovered with a top-20 result at the Wells Fargo Championship. In this field, his Strokes Gained: Total ranks in the top 20.

Si Woo Kim

finished T55 here two years ago and missed the cut in 2022. He also missed the cut two weeks ago at the RBC Heritage, but he made the cut at the Wells Fargo Championship and finished T43. In his last 11 tournaments, he had made nine cuts, a stretch dating back to his January win at the Sony Open in Hawaii. He is a streaky player, but when things are going well, he can go on a big run, particularly in events with less competitive fields. He is another dark horse worth considering.
