The third leg of the Triple Crown in Horse Racing will take place this weekend. Despite not having a chance to be come away with a Triple Crown, the folks in Belmont are pumped for the Belmont Stakes. This race has been running since 1867, which remains the oldest of the Triple Crown events. Always Dreaming, who came away with the win at the Kentucky Derby, and Cloud Computing, who won the Preakness will not be running in this event. Let’s take a look at a few of the horse racing betting favorites to win the 2017 Belmont Stakes:
Here’s A Closer Look At The Top Favorites To Win The 2017 Belmont Stakes
Classic Empire 3/1
Classic Empire is the favorite to win this race, just like he was at the Kentucky Derby. Classic Empire finished third in Louisville. Steven and Brandi Nicholson are the trainers of this horse, and while there are some that wonder about his ability at the 1 ¼ mile track, Classic Empire has shown numerous times that he can fly.
Lookin at Lee 6/1
This horse is named after the legendary Lookin at Lucy, who was the winner of the 2010 Preakness. Looking at Lee came away with third place at the Southwest Derby, and came in third in Arkansas. Looking at Lee has yet to come away with a win in his last eight starts, but appears to be right in the running.
Irish War Cry 8/1
After a poor performance at the Kentucky Derby, Irish War Cry and the training staff are looking for a huge bounce back at the Belmont. Irish War Cry ended up 10th at Louisville, after a great deal of hype. The 8/1 odds for this horse seems to be a really good option if you are looking for some good money.
Senior Investment 10/1
Senior Investment, who comes from the training staff of Ken McPeek seems to be at peak performance right now. This horse started it’s racing career last summer. Fair Grounds was a great place for Senior Investment to run, as the winner. This is a great horse when you are looking for consistent speed.
Tapwrit 10/1
The Todd Pletcher trained horse seems to be on the outside looking in for many experts. Tapwrit won at Tampa Bay, and is looking to duplicate that here at Belmont. After taking the Preakness off, the Tapwrit camp seems to be under the impression it’s time to shine!
We hope you enjoy the Belmont Stakes. It’s the final leg of the Triple Crown. It should be a fun event, and there are plenty of options to bet. We are going to give a final bet of Tapwrit to win this race. Tapwrit is a great runner that seems to be given very favorable odds to bet on. At 10/1, we are hoping for a nice pay day at the end of Saturday. Best of luck and enjoy the race!
