MLB Odds Put Marlins Ahead of Diamonds for Wednesday Game

No team heads into the season believing that they will end it with the worst record in baseball, but it’s a label that one team is going to have to wear when all is said and done. There is a number of teams vying for that spot right now, and two of them will be meeting up this week when the Arizona Diamondbacks take on the Marlins in a 4-game series. Game 3 of that set is scheduled for Wednesday night, and we have an MLB odds analysis and game preview for all baseball betting fans. Date/Time: Wednesday, May 20th, 7:10 PM Location: Marlins Park, Miami, Florida TV: FS-A Radio: KSUN La Mejor 1400, ESPN Phoenix 620 Runline: Marlins -1.5 The Arizona Diamondbacks (16-21) are struggling, and the reason they are doing so is because they simply cannot get any sort of quality pitching from their starting rotation or bullpen. The unfortunate thing here is that they have been able to get runs across the plate, and are in possession of a +5 run differential, which is not something that can be said for other teams with similar records. The D’backs broke out of a pretty bad skid by beating the Marlins in extra innings on Monday night. It was a much needed win, as they had just come off a sweep at the hands of the Philadelphia Phillies, a team with real problems of their own. Chase Anderson (0-1, 2.81 ERA) has been one of the better pitchers for the Diamondbacks this season, and he will get the start on Wednesday.

Key MLB Betting Trends

Arizona Diamondbacks
The Miami Marlins (16-23) are a team in turmoil right now, as they are seriously underperforming. They recently went on a stretch of games where they lost 10 of 14, which was what ultimately cost Mike Redmond his job. There have been some reasons to celebrate for the Marlins recently, including the performance of Giancarlo Stanton, who seems to have taken the long ball to all new levels, or should I say distances. Ichiro had a hit in the Monday night game that tied him with Babe Ruth on the all-time hits standings. Other than that, though, there is very little for Marlins fans to get excited about. David Phelps (2-0, 2.68 ERA) will start for Miami on Wednesday, and will need to try and bounce back from his last start when he was hit pretty hard by the Braves. Betting Prediction: None of the teams involved in this game are having a stellar season, so I expect this one to be another tight, low-scoring affair, and I like the Diamondbacks to come out with a close win over the Marlins.
