MLB Betting Predictions on the NL West Division
The only thing hotter at home than the weather has been the #Dbacks. How many series have they won at Chase Field this year? #DbacksTrivia pic.twitter.com/RmkGtoc3IX

Why don’t people take the Diamondbacks seriously?
Offensively, the Diamondbacks look like the real deal. They are in the top six in MLB based on runs scored, home runs, team batting average and hits. Slugger Paul Goldschmidt has hit much closer to his old form this year, A.J. Pollock has returned to full health, and Chris Owings has become one of the hardest strikeouts in all of baseball thanks to his contact skills. The Diamondbacks have gotten a lot more from their pitchers than they did last year. They sunk a ton of money into their pitching rotation heading into the 2016 campaign, bringing in Zack Greinke and Shelby Miller to anchor their starting five. However, Greinke posted his highest ERA in more than ten years, and Miller wasn’t any better. This year, though, Greinke appears to be earning his ace money, and Taijuan Walker has paired well with him at the top of the rotation. Patrick Corbin and Robbie Ray have turned into solid back-of- the-rotation arms. The problem with the Diamondbacks is that their record in the division is just above .500.Can Greinke Make a Difference for the Dbacks?
As the season turns to September, and matchups start up again with divisional foes, then the team will need to turn its clutch factor up in order to prevail with the title. There’s also the factor of Greinke. As great as his regular-season numbers have historically been, he has a tendency to fold big-time when the games get really important. That’s one reason why the Dodgers decided to pay to keep Clayton Kershaw — but opted to let Greinke go to a division rival in free agency. So while the Diamondbacks will likely hang tough down the stretch, no one would argue with you if you decided not to bet large on their division title chances. Can the Rockies win the NL West?
Did you know that, despite 25 seasons in Colorado and a World Series appearance, the Colorado Rockies have never won a division title? They entered June more than 10 games over than .500 — but so did the Dodgers and the Diamondbacks, just the third time since 1969 (when divisional play began) that three teams in the same division came into June with double-digit records above .500. One problem for Colorado is the depth that the Dodgers’ starting pitchers have. Alex Wood did go on the shelf for a couple of weeks with SC joint inflammation, but he came back and won his next two starts to post an 8-0 record on the season. Colorado relies on Jon Gray to lead a rotation that has three rookies: Antonio Senzatela, Kyle Freeland and German Marquez. Those three youngsters combined to post a 12-4 record in May.But can they win when the pressure amps up?
Plus. they also has a terrific offense, with a team batting average of .264 that is second in the National League. They are also second overall in runs scored (5.04). Their defense has only committed 23 errors, fewest in the National League, led by the hot play of Nolan Arenado, mentioned by many as an MVP possibility. Closer Greg Holland converted all of his first 20 save opportunities, reviving a Rockies bullpen that was the worst in all of baseball last year. But can they keep up with Kershaw? Right now, I put my money in the Dodgers to win that division. But watch the injury reports — and watch those Rockies box scores.Latest NL West Betting Trends
